Lincoln has re-entered the luxury sedan market in style by launching the Zephyr. As eye-catching and gorgeous as it is, here’s a spoiler alert, it is made in China and only for the local market. Sadly, there’s no news of it making a debut in the US market. Joy Falotico, president of Lincoln China, clearly said at the launch that the all-new Lincoln Zephyr is specifically designed for generation Z Chinese customers.

This may come as a surprise to some, but due to low sedan sales in the US, Lincoln decided to re-enter this segment in China, where there’s still quite a demand for traditional three-box design vehicles. Lincoln currently offers only crossovers and SUVs in the US market after pulling the plug on the MKZ last year, and the company has decided to focus and invest in SUVs and electric vehicles. Let’s take a look at what this new stunning sedan is all about, and should you be jealous of it?

Designed, planned and crafted by teams based out of California and China, the Zephyr surely has an air of sophistication with its sleek looks. Premium being a key factor for the Lincoln brand, the new saloon is all set to charm the socks off its new potential customers. With an alluring styling and a colossal front grille with chrome studs, the Zephyr has quite an imposing presence and a don’t mess with me kind of image. By crossing all the t's and dotting the i's, it captures Lincoln’s dynamic Quiet Flight DNA and signature horizontal composition. With the iconic star emblem embossed in the middle of the front facia, it’s the first time the Zephyr nameplate is sporting the horizontal light bar running across the grille and connecting the LED headlights. To add more visual impact, the front bumper houses bulging biceps like air intakes. It has a clean and uncluttered side profile, with prominent shoulder lines running across the body from the front wheel arch to the rear. The Zephyr’s silhouette undoubtedly is similar to the Audi A7 due to its fastback body style, giving it an eye-catching aerodynamic sloping roofline. Speaking of the German Sportback, even the new Lincoln car’s horizontal tail lamp is similar to the Audi’s as it runs across the boot, giving it a 3D floating effect.

If you thought the exteriors made a statement, then the cabin is a true masterpiece, as it will leave you spellbound. The dashboard is one stunning visual as it is one massive 27-inch touch screen or as Lincoln likes to call it coast-to-coast display. It offers an array of multi-touch gestures and customizable displays like a choice between full or split-screens. The driver instrument cluster is an all-digital 12.3-inch unit. Even though this touch screen dashboard reminds us of the Mercedes-Benz EQS’ cabin, Lincoln was inspired by the cosmos, offering a calming relaxing environment inside the car for the driver and the passengers. To add a touch of class, the Zephyr gets traditional switches on the center console below the air condition vents. The sedan sports a two-spoke retro-looking steering wheel with multiple control buttons on both sides.

Taking a step further in exclusivity, the Zephyr comes with 128-color interior ambient lighting options and a special cabin air scent. As Lincoln is synonymous with affluence and opulence, the new sedan will pamper its passengers with lavish and comfortable leather seats. The Zephyr will be available in two trims: the luxury version with plenty of chrome finish and the sporty Black Label.
