First Official Look At The MB EQS

The EQS concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of 2019, and since then there have been countless spy shots and official teaser images since then, and now the camouflage has been removed.

It had been previously revealed that the 2022 Mercedes EQS will have a maximum range of up to 478 miles (770 kilometers) per WLTP, eliminating the range anxiety that has been prevalent in early e-models. Configurations will include outputs from 329 to 516 horsepower (245 to 385 kilowatt), and even more powerful performance will be likely available once the AMG badging is added to the model.

MB confirmed in today’s announcement, that with up to 385 kW of system power from two electric motors and all-wheel-drive, and for all performance enthusiasts, they are also planning to offer a version with up to 560 kW of system power. The largest battery of the EQS has a usable energy content of 108 kWh. This package of hard- and software can get you up to 770 kilometres of electric range WLTP.

This range is also made possible by the car’s benchmark performance in aerodynamics. The EQS is the world’s most aerodynamic series-built vehicle, with a drag coefficient of only 0.20. And with 200 kW fast charging, you can regain up to 300 kilometres of range in just 15 minutes.
