Electric supercars and hypercars are slowly but surely making a name in the automotive world. Croatian carmaker Rimac is soon ready to deliver the 1,914-hp Nevera hypercar. Austrian carmaker Deus Automobiles announced intentions to join the melee of these elite vehicles with the unveiling of the new Deus Vayanne electric hypercar at the 2022 New York International Auto Show.

First Electric Hypercar With More Than 2,000-HP

To make its electric hypercar dream come true, Deus actually partnered with some of the biggest names in the world of automotive design and engineering — Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering. This three-way collaboration will take advantage of Italdesign's heritage and skills and Williams Advanced Engineering's groundbreaking electrification technologies to deliver a hypercar that combines, comfort, luxury, performance, and daily drivability.

Deus targets the new Vayanne to have an all-electric propulsion system as its core, although the company is silent on its setup. Nevertheless, Deus expects the new Vayanne to be capable of delivering more than 2,200 hp of output and over 1,475 lb-ft of torque — becoming the first electric hypercar to go beyond 2,000 hp. With this power, the Vayanne should be able to sprint from zero to 62 mph in 1.99 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 248 mph.

Design Influenced By Symmetry And Geometry

The design of the new Deus Vayanne revolves around the concept of symmetry and geometric alignment of lines and design features. This is why the front and rear grilles have shapes similar to the infinity loop. The parametric grilles feature hexagonal shapes continuously flowing into each other. This doesn’t just make the grilles look like angel wings, but also makes the car exude a more premium feel up front. The Vayanne sits just 4.7 inches above the ground.

Meanwhile, the interior of the new Vayanne features smooth yet dominant curves. Deus positioned the physical controls ergonomically and rendered them easy to use, along with a fully digital instrument cluster and control display. The cabin also employs Halo Infinity mirror all throughout — from the doors throughout the dashboard.

As a zero-emission electric hypercar, the Vayanne takes pride of its green interior; it employs treated and sustainably produced natural leather.
