When the 2022 Lexus LX 600 joined the segment over a year ago, it caused quite a stir. It featured a new base and ditched the long-running V8 in favor of a new twin-turbocharged V6, making it the most major modification to the LX in years.

Earlier this month, Lexus introduced the 2023 version of its flagship LX 600 SUV. Having given the current Lexus LX a complete makeover, Lexus made minor tweaks for the 2023 model year, maintaining the SUV's competitiveness in the class.

The 2023 Lexus LX's external appearance remains unaltered for this model year, preserving the big SUV's aggressive appearance with a huge grille, pointed daytime running lights, and a rounded front end. Its high ride height and boxy shape prove its exceptional off-roading capabilities. Wraparound taillights, an upright shape, and two exhaust outlets built into the bumper characterize the SUV's rear end.

The new Lexus LX 600 will go up against the Cadillac Escalade, the Land Rover Range Rover, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the BMW X7, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. We have all the info you need regarding the 2023 Lexus LX 600, and why it’s the perfect off-road SUV.

For the 2023 model year, Lexus won't make any interior design modifications to the LX. The dashboard of the SUV is simple, and the center console comes divided into two halves, with a huge touchscreen perched on top of a smaller touchscreen. The center console keeps the physical controls to a minimum, for a less cluttered appeal. The 2023 model year’s Ultra Luxury trim level also introduces Takanoha wood trim and a new Unflare trim.

Lexus also added a heated steering wheel to the LX 600's impressive list of standard features starting in 2023, which will appeal to consumers who reside in colder regions of the country. The LX 600 F Sport Handling now has a new color option dubbed Nori Green Pearl, while the Ultra Luxury trim comes standard with Takanoha wood trim.

The 2023 LX 600 shares its chassis with the Toyota Tundra truck and the Sequoia SUV, though the LX 600 is lighter. The LX 600 retains its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, sending 409 horsepower through the standard 10-speed automatic transmission.

Aside from the Tundra and Sequoia, the 2023 Lexus LX 600 also has parts in common with the Toyota Land Cruiser, which is available elsewhere but not in the United States. It thus has a suspension that is specifically engineered for both significant on-road capabilities and off-road travel.

There is a plethora of off-road-focused technologies that complement the engine. These are features like the Active Height Control, Adaptive Variable Suspension, and the most recent edition of the Multi-Terrain Select system. This effective mix enables the LX 600 to be a capable SUV off-road and take its occupants beyond the open road.

The 2023 LX 600 pampers its passengers, with leather seats that are standard in every grade. The Ultra Luxury is where things really start to shine. The highest version has an interior in Sunflare Brown, second-row captain's chairs that resemble those on airplanes, and a smaller touchscreen for people in the back seats.

The same technological elements seen in the current SUV will remain in the 2023 LX 600 as well. This means a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 10 speakers, Bluetooth, a wireless charging pad, satellite radio, navigation, and other goodies will all be standard. There will be a back wireless charging pad, a 25-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and two 11.4-inch screens available features.

The standard equipment list includes forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, automatic high-beam assist, and a lane keeping assist.
