The immensely talented Toyota Tundra takes things up several notches with an all-new 3.0-inch lift kit that's been developed by Toyota Racing Development and has raised the bar for this all-new, full-size pick-up that's grown bigger, and all the better for it.

The new lift kit is made available across the United States as an option that can be installed at the dealership itself. Also, it's the only lift kit that's been approved by Toyota to work with the Toyota Safety Sense system.

Toyota has designed and developed this kit to ensure it works smoothly with the Tundra's standard features, maintains similar stock driving dynamics, and retains Toyota Safety Sense functionality. A kit with a high center of gravity that creates the looks customers would love to see on their Tundra pick-ups.

TRD has tuned the Bilstein monotube shocks and TRD red coil springs, a lot like what was done with the dealer-installed lift-kit offered on the Tacoma mid-size pick-up truck. The shocks get digressive pistons that aid low-speed body control and stability at high speeds. The forged upper control arms up ahead are from Roush Performance.

These upper control arms further help the additional suspension travel that comes with the lifted suspension. The TRD kit includes front extended drive shafts, front bumper stops, front stabilizer links, taller front coil springs, rear spring spacers, extended brake flex hoses, front tie rod and sleeves, front lower knuckles, Bilstein front, and rear shocks and Roush forged upper control arms.

The TRD lift kit raises the height of the truck, giving it a towering look and further increasing ground clearance by 66.04mm. The Tundra also becomes much more capable off the road because of the increased approach and departure angles. The Tundra TRD lift kit gets all the needed hardware, and can exclusively be fixed-on at a dealer. The MSRP for the kit is $3,995 (excluding installation labor).

The lift kit is available for the 2022 model year and the more recent Tundra iForce and iForce Max 4x4 models. However, the TRD kit cannot be bolted onto the TRD Pro and the TRD Sport, or the trucks that feature the optional Adaptive Variable Suspension or air suspension.

The Tundra TRD lift kit also comes with the same warranty as the other TRD accessories, which includes a 3-year (or a 36,000-mile) warranty on parts if it is installed before or at the time of purchase. If the customer buys the lift kit after the truck has already been bought, the coverage is restricted to only 12 months, regardless of the mileage.

Toyota's full-size truck had been redesigned for this year, and it looks stunning. It's currently in its third-generation form and is by far, the best Tundra yet. Some of the most evident improvements on the new Toyota truck include a new rear suspension, new powertrains, a more luxurious, tech-laden cabin, and an overhauled frame.

Beneath the vast hood lies a choice of two turbocharged V6 engines. The base turbo V6 produces 389 hp and makes more torque than the old V8 engine it replaced. This comes in handy when it is tasked with the job of towing and has proven to be a lot more fuel efficient.

The i-Force Max, which is powered by a hybrid V6, has its battery beneath the rear seats; it helps power the electric motor that gives the Tundra more grunt over the regular V6. A lot of changes have been carried out in terms of the underpinnings to help enhance performance on the road.

Instead of the traditional leaf-spring rear suspension, it uses coil springs in the back, resulting in a more pliant ride. The only other trucks that use these rear coils are the Ram 1500 and the Ford F-150 Raptor R. The Tundra can manage a towing capacity of 12,000 lbs, that's quite satisfactory for any light-duty truck owner.

The Toyota Tundra, in no way, is lagging when it comes to technology. The more affordable versions of the Tundra pick-up feature an 8-inch touchscreen, while an optional 14-inch touchscreen is part of the list. The new touchscreen features a high-resolution display that's quicker in terms of response to user inputs.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, plus a voice recognition system, come standard across all grades of the Toyota Tundra. The Toyota Tundra, in its latest guise, never ceases to impress, particularly when you compare it with its predecessor. The four-wheel-drive Tundra can sprint from 0-60mph in about 6.5 seconds or so.
