Chevrolet’s Silverado EV is quite a beastly looking truck, but one that has a few futuristic elements that make it perhaps look more adventurous than the Ford F-150 Lightning. But have you ever wondered what the Silverado EV would look like if it was a sedan? Well, TheSketchMonkey on YouTube has decided to do that, and redesign the Chevrolet Silverado EV to see what it might look like were it to become a sedan.

The Design Process Behind The Silverado Sedan

This design was all about going a bit crazy to turn the truck into a sedan. The first step is to take the body of the car, and then lower it from the original height of the truck. A sedan will not sit as high as the original truck. Even as a low-riding pickup truck, it looks pretty good. Of course, the back bed needs to be fully removed, and TheSketchMonkey stretches out the back of the car to give us an idea of what a sedan truck would look like. The whole design process gets played out as a time-lapse, so let's take a look at the finished sedan Silverado EV.

What TheSketchMonkey has come up with is quite a bulky looking design, but something that seems to really suit the proportions of the Silverado. The biggest difference of course is at the rear. The bed is now gone, replaced by a swooping sedan back that leads down to a conventional trunk. The redesign is so well done that the truck does look just like one of the many EVs that you can buy at the moment. It's an impressive looking thing.

The front fascia of the Silverado has remained almost the same. The lower part of the bumper is now gone, as the sheer size of the original would have looked very odd on a sedan. What’s left is quite a clean looking front-end, with a small lip-spoiler just tucked underneath the new bumper. The shape of the hood is the same and the overall portions of the side of the Silverado are quite similar, those biggest changes being at the back of the truck. It’s a very impressive and well detailed redesign, and it is so slick it looks like it very much came from the Chevrolet design department.
