Chevrolet pickup trucks and SUVs feature rugged construction, high technology, and supple comfort. And the Chevrolet Corvette offers world-class performance that competes with sports cars more than double the price. Now, GM plans to introduce a vehicle combining all of those attributes into one: the 2025 Corvette SUV.

The 'Vette SUV should offer an exciting take on the modern SUV as part of a strategy to introduce a Corvette sub-brand that distills the nameplate's essence into different vehicles. The Ford Mustang Mach-E proved successful by combining the classic sports car nameplate with an all-wheel drive layout and electric power.

Chevy looks to take the same approach with the 2025 Corvette SUV for a versatile vehicle that can easily take on high-performance driving and adverse weather conditions. Since the four-door Corvette is a vehicle of the future, details are scarce at the moment. But we've reviewed the latest news and rumors, so you can plan before Chevy's exciting SUV arrives.

What We Know About The Corvette SUV Potential Pricing

The Chevrolet Corvette SUV MSRP is yet to be detailed. However, Car and Driver reports that the entry-level 1LT will have an estimated starting price of $60,000, while pricing for a midrange Corvette SUV 2LT will begin at $70,000. If you're feeling extravagant, the report suggests saving at least $80,000 for the top-of-the-line 3LT. Of course, these are only educated guesses but are in line with the prices of Chevy's sports car line-up.

For instance, the starting price for a 2024 Corvette Stingray Coupe is $66,300. While that isn't a small sum of money, it gets you a racing-derived small-block V8, a supercar-like mid-engine layout, and track-ready neutral handling. Combine that with bodywork that's both exciting and futuristic, and you have a sports car that's truly world-class.

And for enthusiasts who want even more road holding and acceleration, the 2024 Corvette Z06 goes for $108,100. That brings you a 670 hp flat-plane crank V8, eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and active handling stability control. With credentials like that, the Z06 is a worthy competitor to vehicles like the Porsche 911, Nissan GTR, and Audi R8.

Going by the aforementioned pricing figures, it's a fair estimate the Corvette SUV falls somewhere in between. Since Chevy wants to move vehicles off the lot, a starting price above $100,000 might be a little high for the typical SUV buyer. But with its expected high-tech powertrain, the 2025 Corvette SUV costing almost the same as the base model sports car makes sense. Still, since Chevrolet hasn't made an official announcement, the 2025 Corvette SUV pricing is still a mere guessing game.

What We Know About The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette SUV's Expected Trims Levels

As mentioned, Car And Driver suggests Chevy will offer the 2025 Chevy Corvette SUV in three trim levels — 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. To get an idea of how Chevy might tier trims and pricing on this exciting vehicle, we can look at the regular Corvette's costs and features.

The 2024 Corvette Stingray C8 Coupe offers three trim levels — 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT. Pricing stands at $66,300, $73,400, and $78,050, respectively, which is still a bargain for what you get in terms of design, acceleration, and road holding.

Like the regular Corvette, the SUV version would include an increasing amount of tech and luxury going through the trim levels. But instead of focusing on sports car attributes like track performance, the SUV version could concentrate on off-road ability, all-wheel drive systems, and long-distance comfort.

An Off-Road-Ready Corvette SUV Sounds Wild

The 2023 Chevy Silverado Z71 package — with off-road suspension, hill-descent control, and underbody skid plates — offers an indication of what a trail-focused Corvette SUV might look like. That would make for an ideal combo of sport and utility, creating a vehicle with road-gripping handling and a raised ride height. And what a ride that would be, with the ability to handle any type of condition — rain, snow, or mud — with the superb driving dynamics for which Corvettes are famous.

What We Know About The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette SUV Powertrain

Earlier reports claimed the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette SUV would launch as an EV riding on GM's Ultium Battery Powered Platform, meaning drivers can count on the latest technology, with optimized charging, range, and reliability, regardless of where their travels take them. However, recent reports indicate that the first wave of the high-performance Corvette SUV will ride on GM's Alpha Platform, which currently underpins performance cars such as the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V Blackwing, and even the Chevrolet Camaro.

The same report also gives some information regarding the performance of the four-door Corvette, citing that the base 'Vette SUV will likely feature a 300-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a 400-hp twin-turbo V6. The mid-range SUV, for its part, can have a 500-hp, naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, while the top-end trim can likely come with a supercharged version of the 6.2-liter engine and will generate an estimated 682 hp. This is the same power figure that the 2023 Cadillac Escalade V packs. So, if a Corvette SUV with 682 hp spawns, it sure is worthy of being called the Corvette Z06 SUV.

2025 Corvette SUV Vs Super SUV Competitors

The various engine sizes are most likely for the Corvette SUV to target a wider competition. The "tamer" inline-4 and V6 models will take on the more compact performance SUVs like the Porsche Macan and BMW X3 M. The 500-hp V8s would lock horns with the beefier Porsche Cayenne and the BMW X5 M. As for the top-spec 682-hp Corvette SUV, it will take the fight to the likes of Lamborghini Urus, Ferrari Purosangue, and the Audi RS Q8.

The expected Corvette SUV with 682 hp can also be the only other American performance SUV. This is because the 707-hp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was discontinued in 2021. If the only remaining American Super SUV on sale today—the 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, sustains till 2026, then it will be a formidable competition for the Corvette SUV.

Will The Corvette SUV Be As Mean-Looking As The Lamborghini Urus

And when it comes to body style, four doors are a strong possibility while retaining sleek sports car lines. In the SUV market, having four doors is a given because of increased cargo, convenience, and comfort. And how cool will it be to see a four-door Corvette driving down the road? Quite cool if you ask us. That'll take this 'Vette into uncharted territory. But that seems like a formula for sales success with the demand for new and exciting SUVs.

When it comes to design, there is very little to ponder. Our render guru, Emmanuel, has tried to visualize the Corvette SUV with the same sharp design language as the mid-engined C8 Corvette. It sure looks menacing, and if Chevy creates something that resembles our imagination, the Lamborghini Urus is going to lose a lot of attention.

Chevy hasn't provided a release date for the Corvette SUV. We'll search for the latest information, so keep checking back for when you can place a deposit. But since the 'Vette Sport utility vehicle is a 2025 model, we can take a guess on when it hits the showroom floor. That way, you can begin counting the days until your dream ride arrives, and you can tackle both winding roads and rocky trails in one of the coolest SUVs out there.

Typically, new vehicle models come out in the fall. For instance, a 2025 model year car will release in the autumn of '24. But that's only a guess based on past model years, and the Corvette SUV could be different, with either an earlier or later release date.
