We at HotCars can appreciate a good, fast, luxurious SUV. Behold, the Aston Martin DBX 707. We agree with The Fast Lane Car's YouTube video when he says this may be the most beautiful SUV today. The video captured takes place on the second-largest island in Italy, Sardinia, where the white Aston Martin looks comfortably at home.
The Aston Martin Styling
We begin our tour with the styling. Obviously, Aston Martin is one of the top contenders when it comes to styling, but this particular DBX is not your average DBX. This is the holy grail of DBX's. The 707. Styling changes include much more aero packages, including wider grills and diffusers on diffusers. It also incorporates a massive wing perfectly carved into the rear hatch. The brake calipers sport a stunning tennis ball yellow paint, which look great behind the 23-inch mags.
The Hand Built Mercedes V8 Engine
The engine is an Aston Martin-modified version of the Mercedes twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. They are still hand built in the United Kingdom at the Aston Martin factory. The engine is widely used around the world in different cars, but this Aston Martin version makes close to 700 horsepower. This makes it one of the most powerful SUVs that you can buy. It owes this horsepower upgrade to bigger turbos and a new nine-speed transmission. This propels the car up to a staggering 196 mph and a 0-60 time of about 3.1 seconds.
The DBX Interior
As expected, the interior is all leather and carbon fiber. There are many buttons, but they are very thought out. For example, the start button is at the top center of the dash. Next to it are the push buttons for the transmission. This may seem a little off at first, but it creates space where the traditional gear lever would be for useful features while driving.
Surprisingly, the main screen is not a touch screen and a little old-fashioned, but who needs to listen to anything when you have a 700 horsepower engine with a sport exhaust button. The Aston also has a ton of different driving modes including sport, sport +, GT, individual and terrain. The terrain function then goes into different terrains that you can choose from and if you really wanted to, you could off-road your 700 horsepower DBX, but would you really want to off-road a $230,000 Aston Martin?
Our Verdict On This Luxury SUV
After watching the video, we can all simultaneously agree, that this is an absolute gem. When we think of other companies jumping into the SUV market that didn't successfully get a good-looking car on their first attempt, the DBX does that and more by including a 700 horsepower engine. We do think the price tag is a little steep for this specific car when a Jeep Trackhawk with 707 hp starts at around $90,000.
