The car was inspired by the 1970s Ferrari 512 BB and utilized a Ferrari 458 Italia as the base platform.

The buyers were on an invite-only basis and Gordon Ramsay, a celebrity chef and Ferrari enthusiast, was one of the lucky customers. He opted for a Pearl Whitecoat for his LaFerrari Aperta and has been spotted out in public on a few occasions with the V12 hypercar.
