From the beginning of time, man has always had a special relationship with speed, and breakthroughs in technology have helped develop and sustain this thrilling relationship. Car or motorbike racing has long served as a means of recreation, a test of driving skills, and most importantly, the show of engineering superiority. Automakers often take their mechanical creations to the tracks to break/establish land speed records that are higher than that of previous holders.

Speed records attained only by racing cars and bikes not too long ago are now being obliterated daily by street-legal vehicles. There is a silent war in the auto industry about which supercar does 300 mph and which superbike does 200 mph. With the advances in technology, more supercars and superbikes are clocking those previously elusive numbers. Read on for a list of the five fastest street-legal supercars and five fastest street-legal superbikes on the market in 2021.
