Tesla’s vision of creating the most sensational automobile company of the 21st century might have been doubted by a few, but 12 years after producing its first car, – a Tesla Roadster that was delivered to co-founder, Elon Musk – Tesla has recorded over 891,000 more electric car sale,s making it one of the biggest electric car manufacturer in the world.

Meanwhile, amid rising sales figures and increasing numbers of enthusiastic Tesla car owners, there’s a new culture of car modification that is rapidly catching on. People now modify their cars to suit their persona and taste. In doing this, some employ the services of professional car modification companies while others just simply buy the required tools, enter their garage and modify their car by themselves.

These professional and non-professional modifications adventures have resulted in the production of some of the best looking modified Tesla cars around while some others have not been desirous. Here we check out some of these great and also not so great modifications.

15 Ruined – Model X For Kids

via Teslarati

At first glance, even Elon Musk might fail to identify this SUV, but it’s a Tesla Model X. This mid-size crossover SUV has one of the most impressive aesthetical features of any Tesla car which is its specially designed doors; the falcon-wings. These special doors and other features make the Tesla X a highly coveted car, yet the owner of this here decided to ruin it with an inexcusably childish paint job.

While it’s a good thing to be a handyperson, it can also be a bad thing when you’re too handy. This is a classic case of such. This handyperson is a female YouTuber known as Simone Giertz who ran out of patience waiting for Tesla’s CyberTruck and instead built her own. It took a lot of effort and she deserves commendation but she could also have just waited a little more for the Cybertruck and not slaughter a Model 3.

12 Ruined – Sunny Chrome

via Pinterest

There are diverse ways of painting a car but a mirror-like chrome wrap shouldn’t be one. To know this was done on a Model S makes it even more criminal. The car has lost its visual appeal and glancing at it on a sunny afternoon would be real torture. This is not recommendable.

A Tesla Model S that has been modified for racing in all its glory. For a little more context, we all agree the Model S P100D is an incredibly fast car, however, the racing version is even faster. This car’s modification includes removal of about 1,100 pounds from the total curb weight and a major boost to its base 778 hp leading it to an unofficial acceleration from 0 to 60mph time in two seconds. However, it’s been shipped to Mexico and still looks amazingly beautiful you wouldn’t know so much as changed about it; this Tesla X has been up-armored by Centur Security, a Mexican car modification company. Considering how unnoticeable the customization is from merely looking at the exterior, this company did a good job.

The modification is as cool as it can get during the day and even looks more awesome at night.

1 Surprisingly Good – Wireless Charging Mod

The car looks just like a normal Tesla but what we have here is a modified Tesla with an inbuilt wireless charger.
