If you have deep pockets, a sense of humor and are looking for something completely different, you might just be in luck. Feast your eyes on this Nissan Juke-R, a car that you won’t likely ever see anyone driving, and the Nissan GTR’s crazy uncle, with more girth and also way more power.

Brought to you by some Nissan engineers and motorsports partners who also surely possess a great sense of humor, the Juke-R seems like the unfathomable end-result of a project that may have been hatched by the aforementioned engineers over too many beers.

No Juking Around

If the Juke-R seems vaguely familiar, it’s because the project goes back to 2011, when the de facto factory project was unveiled to the public, followed by five slightly modified examples that were built in the next few years. After 2 of the examples were crashed and the other 2 snapped up by Nissan, this became the sole surviving car and as such, has become even more highly coveted than ever.

The cars were conceived by British motorsports company RML with consultation and technical assistance from Nissan Technical Center Europe (NTC-E) and built by the tuning company Severn Valley Motorsport. This particular Juke-R uses a modified version of the GT-R's twin turbo 3.8L V6 that pumps out a staggering 690 horsepower, and borrows Godzilla’s sophisticated all-wheel drive system and suspension along with an FIA-specification roll-cage. The bulbous and muscular vehicle, thus fortified, travels from 0-60 mph in just 3.0 seconds and can reach a top speed of 170 mph.

But this is not just a one-trick Juke made for the drag strip. The suspension received much in terms of modifications, including adjustable coil-overs and new, thicker front and rear anti-roll bars. The brakes are also massively upgraded, and 20 inch wheels fill the carbon fiber wide-body kit. The upgrades found their way to the interior as well with a drive mode selector, 4WD controller, and all of the GTR’s technowizardry embedded in it.

As mentioned earlier, speed and especially exclusivity won’t come cheap. The asking price for this one of a kind Juke/GT-R amalgamation is a shade over $700k. Considering that it’s the only one of its kind that will ever see the light of day (or the black of tarmac), we think it’s certainly worth it.
