8 1951 Ford “Fordillac”

This is one of the oldest cars in Richard Rawlings’ collection. Otherwise known as the “Fordillac,” this 1951 Ford beauty was an extremely popular machine after World War II. Hot rodders had a wild love for it.

In the ‘50s, Ford owners would swap their model's engines for the more powerful Cadillac power units creating the “Fordillac” nickname this car got. Rawlings’ 1951 beauty has been restored and colored in beautiful blue paint. This car had been in his neighborhood all his life.

7 1967 Pontiac Firebird

GM shut down its Pontiac division over ten years ago. However, the brand will forever be remembered for producing some of the most iconic classic cars gearheads can remember. One of Pontiac’s best creations was the Firebird.

This model was introduced in 1967 and became an instant hit. Pontiac’s designers gave the ’67 Firebird an attractive coke bottle styling with a powerful engine to boot. Rawlings grew up loving the Firebird, and when the opportunity landed to buy the first two ever built, he took it.

6 1971 Dodge Challenger

Richard Rawlings’ life and career have been about finding old classics and bringing them back to life. This 1971 Dodge Challenger received precisely that treatment. Richard Rawlings, however, sought to preserve the original styling of this model. Thus, the most it got on the exterior was a new paint job and big wheels.

However, under the hood, the story is different. The Challenger’s original engine was swapped for a modern 707-hp Hellcat engine, making this 1971 ride a weapon. All that power demanded a new Be Cool radiator, RideTech coil-overs, Wilwood brakes, and a six-speed transmission from Tremec.

5 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Richard Rawlings was not the cool kid in high school. But one thing that would elevate him to that status was a 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It is one of the coolest cars of the ‘70s. Rawlings didn’t keep his high school ride for long. However, later in life, he finally purchased the car of his teens, taking himself back to the good old days.

The 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am still boasts a cool design that’s still timeless to date. Moreover, it dared to dream at a time when the American automotive industry was on its knees, developing 200 hp from an engine that was choked on emissions hardware.

4 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition

When Richard Rawlings was growing up, the most popular poster car was the Lamborghini Countach. Its wedge-shaped design was eye-catching, perfectly complimenting the scissor doors this model donned. Behind the driver, the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition packed a beastly V12 that tore a hole through space and time.

But Rawlings had to wait until he was old and rich enough to afford this model. He also had to install a bulkier bumper to meet the new, strict American safety specifications. That move nearly ruined the car’s looks, but it’s still a masterpiece to behold.

3 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
