Hypercars represent the absolute pinnacle of automotive design and engineering capabilities. They are the most powerful, fast, and consequently expensive vehicles around. Compared to a supercar, hypercars are a level above, even less usable, rarer, and insanely powerful.Manufacturers produce hypercars in order to trial upcoming technology, demonstrate their capabilities, and also attract attention to their brand. In the last 10 years or so, the hypercar market has expanded. Previously exceptionally rare, more hypercar manufacturers are now exploring the market. Perhaps, the drive towards hybrid and electric powertrains has provided an opportunity for more experimentation and has led to an expansion. For many buyers of such cars, they are just as interested in becoming part of an elite community of owners as they are in actually possessing the car. Hypercars provide a means of meeting like-minded people, and they are ultimately a lifestyle choice filling the role of a hobby.
