Peregrine Automotive, LLC is a specialty car manufacturer and customizer with its headquarters located in Whitefish, Montana and manufacturing center in Irvine, California. They're known for designing and fabricating hand made wide body kits in carbon fiber for the Porsche 911 called the "Revenge GT1" and the car up for review today - the Mustang GT based "Revenge GT."

With a lightweight body, custom mods throughout, and an 800 HP supercharged Coyote engine, it just might be one of the wildest custom Mustangs on the road. Eat your heart out, Saleen! But it certainly isn't cheap and they're not making many of them, so let's check out Peregrine's "Revenge GT" right now.

Bird Of Prey

Everyone reading this has probably heard of Saleen, Steeda, Roush, Shelby and of course Hennessey, but Peregrine doesn't immediately spring to mind when thinking about modded Mustangs. They deserve mention as the "Revenge GT," based on the current gen Mustang, is much more than a series of bolt on goodies with off the shelf body parts.

Lightweight And Powerful

Peregrine starts off by hand making a bespoke carbon fiber wide body kit for the Mustang. The detail work is impressive. Next up they strip a Mustang donor car down to nothing except the roof and doors. Then they build it back up with their custom parts including fenders, hood, front clip and splitters, rear diffuser, and muscular rear haunches. They also offer a rather obtrusive "Race Wing" out back which I'm not particularly fond of but if this is the kind of car you like well then of course.

The engine is a 5 liter Coyote V8 with a giant 3 liter Whipple squeezebox on top. Peregrine also makes some custom underhood pieces, an intake, and free flow exhaust is added. On the inside, the "Revenge GT" gets a custom leather interior with matching colors, stitching and styles to suit the customer's tastes. And exterior color and texture options are also available.

Saleen, Who?!

Unfortunately, the "Revenge GT" is hardly a value proposition. It even manages to make Hennessey's rather inflated Mustang packages look downright reasonable. What does it cost? The carbon fiber wide body kit and performance upgrades start at $139,000 and that's without a single option and you'll have to supply a donor car.

By the time you're done you could end up with a $200,000 Mustang! Yikes! But you will be joining an exclusive club as Peregrine will only be making 50 versions with 35 of those set to be coupes and the rest convertibles. Buckle up.
