You may have noticed that most of your favorite YouTubers have some incredible supercars and other vehicles that they keep for a time and then sell off again. Part of the reason they can manage this is that many of them are strategically purchasing these cars to minimize depreciation. When done properly they're actually capable of appreciating in value.

We'll start out with 5 cars that you'll never afford no matter how rich you get but we'll finish off with 9 that are outstanding investments as you're reading this. 14 You'll Never Afford: Mercedes Maybach Exelero

Via yandex

The Exelero is pretty odd looking for what it is. A combination of Mercedes and Maybach styling that to my eye actually doesn't look very good. What makes that even worse is that this thing costs more than $8 million before taxes. There are only a few of them too so you might as well stop looking.

13 You'll Never Afford: Ferrari 250 GT California

Via Hemmings

The car from Ferris Bueller is one of the prettiest cars ever, and it should be considering it will cost you more than 15 million dollars to put one in your garage. That's absolutely absurd for any car but even more for one that can be outrun by a Ford Focus.

12 You'll Never Afford: Pagani Zonda

WallpaperSite.com

The Zonda has been produced in so many little variations because it was important to the company that each maintains its value. They've certainly accomplished that. When the cars were new they sold for 1 or 2 million each. Today they're all trading for well over 3 million.

11 You'll Never Afford: Lamborghini Veneno Roadster

One of only 9 Venenos ever made, this white convertible is even rarer considering there are only 2 other topless cars. Originally sold for more than 3 million, prices are only getting higher and higher. It's a lot of car, but not faster than a current Aventador.

10 You'll Never Afford: Bugatti La Voiture Noire

Bugatti must be following the mold of Pagani because they keep making these strange low production variants of the Chiron. Of course, they're major moneymakers. This car costs more than 4 million dollars and isn't any quicker than the Chiron.

So you can't have it here in the states yet but hear me out. Now is the time to buy them up. Get it cheap while you can.

8 Invest In Now: Range Rover

Range Rovers have a terrible reputation for being comically unreliable, but here's the secret to getting a good one. Go find a mid-90s or earlier example that's had its problems sorted and you're only going to make money on it over the next decade. The newer ones are far more complex and hard to maintain. These older ones just have some sketchy wiring but the drivetrain is outstanding.

The 996 version of the 911 is dirt cheap right now. You can get these in good shape for 20k right now and they're starting to rise. This is the first water-cooled 911 and unique because of those headlamps. I think both those things are going to actually help its value so get in now.

It's tough to find a reliable sports car that can be driven all the time without much fear, but the Elise is that car. A Toyota engine is about as reliable as it gets and that's exactly what you have with this Lotus. In addition, they look amazing, and for the money, they're an incredible value. Keep one in good shape and you'll never lose a dime on it.

BMW only made the Z3 M Coupe for a few short years. Because of that they're extremely rare and already priced higher than you might think. What's important is that they're not going to get any lower anytime soon. Because over time some will be lost I'm sure they will only appreciate.

These are available right now and are pricey for a four-door hatchback but they're still only going to continue to get more expensive over time. They're reliable, they're rare and they're actually pretty useful should you actually need your investment to do things for you other than sit and appreciate value.

1 Invest In Now: TVR Cerbera Speed12

Via Reddit

The Cerbera Speed 12 is the daddy of all TVR supercar killers. This thing is an absolute monster. Because of that and other things it's the most expensive car on this side of the list at some $245,000. That is steep but I can assure you it's only going to continue to rise. In just the last ten years it's gone from $160,000 to that much higher number. Find one and buy it up. They're so special.
