Porsche has a long history of producing elegant sports cars, with their new 2022 911 Turbo S being no different. While the 911s of the past have been incredible to say the least, they are nowhere near comparable to this newest edition.

If the sheer performance is not enough to get you drooling, the Turbo S is packed full of advanced features to ensure maximum driving enjoyment. The reasons to buy one keep piling up.

Rather than listing every single spec and feature of this car, of which there are many, specs and features will be split between performance and luxury. If you are not already lusting after one,  there's an endless amount of features justifying the craving for a new 2022 Turbo S.

The new 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S stays true to its heritage, pushing performance to a whole new level.

Potent Performance

It no secret that 911s are quick cars. As the trademark of Porsche's image, performance and elegance have always been a key part of the 911 name. However, the new 911 Turbo S has propelled the performance of the 911 even further than before. But no one actually cares about general performance unless it's backed by facts and figures, so let's look at some numbers.

First and foremost, the 911 Turbo S houses a twin-turbocharged 3.8L version of the iconic six cylinder boxer engine. The result: the power potential of 640HP from factory. If this number isn't exciting in its own right, the utilisation of this power is more impressive, translating into an unthinkable 0-60mph time of merely just 2.6 seconds. The gorgeous numbers don't stop there, as the max torque produced by the Turbo S is 590 pounds per foot.

In terms of specifics, the flow of oxygen through the car has been transformed, with changes made to the air intake and exhaust manifold, resulting in increased power. Porsche has consciously constructed this car to maximise performance. Porsche states that "larger exhaust turbochargers and piezo injectors [were] used for the first time" as well as bigger brakes to take care of both acceleration and braking needs. The increased power is accommodated for with a new 8 speed dual clutch (PDK) that provides quick shifts without the loss of power.

Apart from mechanical advancements, there are a multitude of technological advancements; electronically controlled traction, active sport suspension and an advanced differential system to name a few, to ensure that performance is maximised. For everyday driving on the road Porsche has included a front-axle lift system to protect the car from curbs and ramps. For track driving, there is an adaptive aerodynamic system to ensure that wind is utilised in a way that benefits the driver: less resistance and lower fuel consumption.

The Turbo S has been carefully designed from the ground up to ensure that performance is optimised, be it on the road or on the track.

Next Level Luxury

While the performance capabilities of the Turbo S assert it as an obvious sports car, its extravagant interior advances it the highest echelon of luxury vehicles. From intelligent assistance systems, premium seating to cutting-edge infotainment centre, there has been nothing left out to ensure that the Turbo S provides a driving experience paralleled by none.

The central hub of control is the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system that is controlled by a massive 10.9 inch touchscreen display. The PCM controls audio, assistance systems, navigation and communication, and is fully customisable to suit the individual user. Furthermore, Porsche Connect allows a smartphone to be used as an external interface, allowing the synchronisation of calendar, destination and real-time traffic information.

In terms of relaxation, physical comfort and aural pleasure are accommodated for with the 18-way adaptive Sport Seats Plus and the Bose Surround Sound System that come standard in the Turbo S, with Porsche providing optional upgrades if desired.

The Turbo S sports 5 driving modes: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, Individual and Wet, to ensure that it's able to tackle any and every driving condition and requirement. The Individual driving mode tailors the Turbo S to the driving style of the driver. The Sport mode on the other hand, allows for more dynamic response, with the Sport Plus mode pushing performance even further without sacrificing comfort, through the activation of various assistance systems.
