The Most Important Features Of Lotus Emira

Built on an aluminum chassis, the Lotus Emira is the brand's largest mass sports car. Its wheelbase is the same size as the Evora (2,575 millimeters), but it is 20 millimeters longer (4,412 millimeters) and has a wider track. It is noteworthy that the newest Lotus sports car has retained power steering.

In addition to the new chassis, the company applied a new design style in the mass segment for the first time. The model is made in the same spirit as the electric flagship Evija, which has many boomerang-like elements.

The Emira's interior is fundamentally new, with a different front panel and steering wheel. The sports car received a media system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a large monitor as a dashboard. In addition, the basic configuration of the coupe will include seats, which can be electrically adjusted in 4 directions.

For the first time, the German turbo-four became the base engine for the Lotus sports car. It is commonly used on the base Mercedes-AMG models. In the case of the Emira, it develops 360 hp. The flagship engine is still Toyota's 3.5-liter V6. The supercharged engine produces 400 hp, and the traditional six-speed or automatic gearboxes will be offered for it.

Detailed specifications have not yet been published. Lotus said the fastest Emira will hit 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 mph.

The new product will be assembled in Norfolk. The company invested more than £100 million ($138 million) in the renovation of the enterprise. At the same time, the base cost of Emira will be £60,000 (almost $83,000). The car will be on sale next spring.
