The Bugatti Bolide is an incredibly outrageous track weapon that the French supercar manufacturer likens to "riding on a cannonball." Debuting last October, the Bolide benefits from a new design that separates it from Bugatti's more recognizable masterpieces the Veyron and Chiron. Take, for example, the aircraft-inspired LED lights situated in an "X" shape on the rear fascia. It's no wonder spectators surrounded the hypercar during a public appearance over the weekend in Milan. Not only did onlookers get to see the hypercar's radical design up close, they also experienced its legendary W16 engine during a couple of cold start-ups, which elicited amusing reactions someone caught on camera in the process.

Hear The Bugatti Bolide's Loud Engine

Surprising no one considering the exclusive brand it hails from, Bugatti plans on producing only 500 of these track-only beasts with a price tag surpassing $3 million each. That's what makes its appearance this past weekend so special when it showed up at this year's Milano Monza Open Air Show.

In footage uploaded to YouTube channel NM2255 Car HD Videos, the Bolide is spotted at night getting loaded onto a trailer. Just before it's tucked away for the night, however, the Bolide treats the crowd to a couple cold start-ups that (understandably) startles several nearby observers, appropriately doling out jump scares being that it's a menacing piece of work.

The Bolide comes with the brand's characteristic W16 engine, the same powerplant that inhabits other Bugatti legends including the Veyron and Chiron. In the Bolide, the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 produces 1,825 hp that helps it hit a claimed top speed of 310 mph.

The Bolide Hypercar's Thrilling Public Appearance

That wasn't all Bugatti had in store for spectators, though. Those who attended MIMO 2021, in what Bugatti dubs the Bolide's "first public dynamic appearance," got to witness the track weapon drive through the streets of Milan in a caravan of other supercars from the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari, and more. Photos of the Bolide uploaded to Bugatti's Instagram account show Milan's beautiful architecture serving as the perfect backdrop for the hypercar. The Bolide wasn't the only new Bugatti there either, as the recently announced Chiron Super Sport also made an appearance during MIMO, which took place June 10-13, 2021.
