So, what happens when you get the chance to own the last of a 250-units special edition rare car? Well, most people would store it in their sheds, polish it regularly, and keep it as original as possible. Not YouTuber Itsjusta6, also known as, Gavin. If anything, he has an ambitious plan to modify it into the world’s first twin-turbo Shelby F-150 Super Snake. He uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel unwrapping the Ford F-150 Super Snake turbo-kit.
“We’ve got five different boxes, full of stuff, sponsored by a few different companies, so what I am going to do first is open up everything. Get it all laid out on the table, and then we are going to start going through things one by one,” Gavin said.
The F-150 Turbo Kit is from Hellion Turbo. Gavin chose to work with Hellion Turbo for their reputation as the premier turbo kit manufacturer for a wide range of vehicles.
62-millimeter Twin-Precision Turbo Setup
“It’s very obvious that this is a lot of stuff, and that is why this is going to be a complete dedicated video to strictly just unboxing everything here because there’s a lot to talk about. I also want to talk a good bit about the direction of this truck,” Gavin revealed.
Gavin is working with Hellion Turbo on the F-150 Super Snake Sport, the reason why they are sponsoring every bit of the turbo kit for his truck. Gavin's turbo kit for his ambitious project though slightly tweaked for his F-150 Super Snake, was designed for a Coyote F-150.
For instance, instead of the 57-millimeter Twin Borg Warner EFR 7163 turbos that typically come with the Coyote Turbo kit, Gavin is upgrading it to a 62-millimeter twin-precision turbo setup that should be ideal for 1,200 hp.
“Are we going to be making that on our stock engine and stock transmission? Of course not, but it’s nice to know that we’ve got the headroom for, you know, future upgrades," he revealed.
Gavin is also working with Precision Turbos. They sent him the twin-turbos for the Hellion Turbo kit since he was looking to make a little more power than what the kit was rated for.
OEM Fit And Finish For The F-150
AvalonKing also sent an entire fuel system kit for the F-150 Super Snake, including some injectors. The entire turbo kit has 100% stainless steel construction with an OEM fit and finishes for an original OEM truck look.
The truck will also have a scavenge pump to help with oil flow issues and turbo health, an E-Boost starting boost controller, Precision Turbo Blow-off valves, wastegates, and intercooler.
“What’s unsuspecting about this truck is that we are going to have bottom mount turbos, black intercooler, and the intake pipe that goes up the charge pipe that goes up to the throttle body,” Gavin revealed.
The Hellion turbo-kit is a direct bolt-on kit you can install at home. Gavin looks forward to showing the install process to his viewers on the next video upload. With all the upgrades in progress, including the ceramic coating on the exterior, this F-150 Super Snake is going to be one rad project.
