Of all the automotive digital renderers on Instagram, few of them are more prolific than Czech Republic-based designer Rotislav Prokop, who's garnered a faithful following via his take on the speedsters that catch his eye. Interestingly, Prokop seldom touches what's hitting the roads in Europe as he seems more interested in what's rolling out of Detroit. He's beefed up such rides as the C8 Corvette and the much-lamented Pontiac Firebird, but he certainly turned some eyes on social media on Sunday with his take on the Ford Mustang Mach 1.

An Edgier Look Than The Real Thing

Prokop doesn't seem to have much regard for how automakers on his continent like to reconfigure their supercars, with sleek, yet ergonomically rounded exteriors, much like expectant parents trying to babyproof their homes. He likes a bit of an edge and the sharper, the better. Take a look at that rectangular grille, a far cry from the latest Mach 1's hexagonal blob in the front. And no kitty-cat headlights for this Prokop rendition. Nope, he's got them mounted right in the grille.

Prokop's added a cowcatcher-like front spoiler to his Mustang. And then there's the hood, with intakes larger than on the real thing. On the back, he's got vents behind the fenders and a solid rear spoiler. Taillights aren't relegated to the corners, but spread right across. And those tubular exhausts are gone, replaced by sharper-looking pipes with that—yep—edge.

But how does this latest work by Prokop, who has nearly 130,000 Instagram followers, rate among his followers? For some, it certainly sparked their own feelings of the Mach 1 and their desires to own one. A few of them felt it was an awesome effort, while one detractor said it was hardly Prokop's best, although his assessment was considerably harsher.

But while the positive responses still outweighed the naysayers, he still received roughly 1,300 likes, considerably less than what he normally gets. That Firebird, for example, received nearly 10,000 likes.
