Maserati has been teasing its fans with the new MC20 mid-engine Supercar for a while. Through their YouTube channel, they released a sneak peek video of how the Maserati MC20 is built.

Labeled as the first of its kind, Maserati has called their newly released MC20 the supercar that pushes time boundaries.

According to Maserati, the MC20 runs on patented technology derived from F1 and packs a 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes a whopping 630 hp. They call it the Nettuno engine. In addition, the Maserati MC20 will have an all-electric variant in the future.

There’s still very little information about the all-electric version, but Maserati says its engineers are shooting to have a driving range of 235 miles.

The MC20 Is Carefully Hand-Assembled by Maserati Technicians

The video showcases the build process of the iconic Maserati MC20, and it starts with a factory tour with the V6 engine block on display. Then, in true Italian fashion and perfection, the engine is hand-mounted into the frame by a technician.

The 630-hp V6 mid-engine is matted onto an eight-speed automatic transmission that Maserati claims can do 0-62 mph in less than three seconds. In addition, it is capable of reaching a top speed of 200 mph.

All MC20 options will come with adjustable suspension options with four driving modes, with one solely dedicated to driving in wet conditions.

The coupe version body and exterior design are carefully measured and calculated by Maserati technicians. A technician checks each panel, gap, vent, and curve to help enhance performance and reduce drag once the supercar hits the track. It's primarily made of carbon fiber.

The paint job is detailed and conducted in steps to ensure the colors mature with a unique signature that clearly defines the perfection of Italian engineering. The panels are hand-checked by a technician for errors before the engine and transmission are finally hand-mounted on the frame.

Maserati technicians have carefully installed the interior, windscreen, rear window, door panels, badges, and lamps. It’s a simplistic interior that’s clean, with vital controls and a center console. The Maserati’s interior is accessed through upward unfolding butterfly doors. It also comes with an upscale interior inspired by black leather seats, shades of blue stitching, and carbon fiber panels.

The Maserati MC20 is a truly iconic car, especially since, for more than 20-years, the Nettuno engine was exclusively developed by Maserati. The design and process is awe-inspiring. What remains is to see it on the track ripping through the asphalt.
