Running away from police cars is usually a futile exercise. Unless drivers have the guts of Cannonball Run challengers, they shouldn't dare to race against police officers trained for pursuit operations. But the Car Trek trio of Freddy "Tavarish" Hernandez, Tyler "Hoovies Garage" Hoover and Ed "VINWiki" Bolian dared to race against a Ford F-150 local police vehicle at the Atlanta Motorsports Park.
Running Away From The Police On The Track
Freddy, Tyler, and Ed were dared to bring their first cars to the Atlanta Motorsports Park. The rule was simple – they had to outrun the local police on the track. So, Freddy (Nissan Maxima), Tyler (Mercedes-Benz 300TD), and Ed (tuned Audi S4), just need to outrun the Dawson County police force's Ford F-150 (Responder or SSV) until the finish line. Interestingly, running away from the police was a dream for Freddy.
Upon request (or demand) from Tyler and Freddy, the local police gave them a five-second lead in their respective cat-and-mouse contests. But since the Maxima and the 300TD were too underpowered compared to the F-150, they were overtaken and Freddy and Tyler were "arrested."
Confident that his S4 and his driving skills are too good for the police, Ed declined the five-second lead. The F-150 police vehicle never caught the Audi.
Racing Against Each Other In Their Dream Cars
Still fresh from a one-mile straight-line race in a recent Car Trek episode, Freddy, Tyler and Ed agreed to face each other in a track contest at the Atlanta Motorsports Park. The one-mile winner-take-all race saw Tyler and his SLS AMG grabbing the victory. The track race, however, is a quite technical contest where both the human and the machine matter.
The track race was a two-part contest—first cars in the initial lap and the dream cars in the second lap. Acknowledging that the S4 has the advantage over their Maxima and 300TD, Freddy and Tyler agreed to sabotage the Audi while Ed was giving junior police officers some driving lessons. The sabotage resulted in the S4 delivering less power than it should.
Ed's Audi And Lamborghini For First Place Finish
Despite suffering from lower power due to the sabotage, the S4 still gave Ed the lead in the first half, followed by the Maxima and the 300TD. Humorously, the 300TD rolled away backwards after Tyler failed to park it properly.
Meanwhile, Ed was enjoying a huge lead with his Lamborghini Murcielago. Freddy was closely following Ed but the tires of his Aston Martin DBS blew out, allowing Tyler and his SLS AMG to catch up. The result? Ed won, followed by the amused Tyler and the disappointed Freddy.
