The mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8, which debuted exactly two years ago, will soon receive a modification with the Z06 index. The car prototype was captured by random people several times already, but now the manufacturer has begun an official countdown to the premiere by publishing a teaser video.

What Can Be Seen In The New Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Teaser?

The car itself was not shown in the video, but you can clearly hear how the engine starts and spins up, accelerating the new car along the highway. If rumors are true, you can hear a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 from the C8.R racing Corvette. If you pay attention to the sound of the engine acceleration, you become more than sure that the engine is naturally aspirated.

It was also rumored that the car will produce around 650 hp and 813 Nm. For comparison, the base coupe and C8 roadster have a 6.2-liter V8 with 502 hp and 637 Nm, and the Corvette Z06 of the previous generation was equipped with a 6.2-liter 659 hp engine with a mechanical supercharger.

For those who haven't been paying quite as much attention to the Corvette over the past year, the new Z06 doesn't really follow the same formula as previous versions. In general, all basic aspects of the Z06 should be upgraded. In addition to a different internal combustion engine, fans should expect a reduction in mass, a retuned suspension, more powerful brakes, and a different aerodynamic tail. Chevrolet is expected to try to set a new Nurburgring record using this supercar, so it should be track-focused.

The premiere of the hot Chevrolet Corvette will take place this fall. It has not yet been reported where and how this will be done. But it is possible that the LA Auto Show, which will be held on November 19-28, will be chosen as a place for the show. In the United States, the new car will go on sale next year as a 2023 model year car. Later, it should be supplemented by a 600-hp Corvette Grand Sport, an 850-hp Corvette Z1, and a 1,000-hp Corvette Zora.
