Steve Harvey has become one of the most popular comedians and television hosts today. From a place of humble beginnings, he has risen to the top and he’s really only seen huge success quite recently, by becoming the most frequent host of big-time TV shows and becoming one of the most endorsed celebrities on the planet.
But his life wasn’t all rainbows. Back in the late 1980s, the 62-year-old comedian and host was homeless, living in his 1988 Ford Taurus, trying to make ends meet while becoming a comedian. He wasn’t given anything but he eventually found his big break and took the plunge with both feet. Now, he’s a six-time Daytime Emmy Award winner, a two-time Marconi Award winner, and a 14-time NAACP Image award winner in various categories.
He’s also the author of the popular books Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, and Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find and Keep a Man. He’s hosted shows like the Miss Universe pageant (when he famously confused the winner with the runner-up) and has been the host of Family Feud for years.
Steve’s also an avid car guy, particularly loving ultra luxurious rides like Rolls-Royces and Bentleys. But when you’re worth $150 million, with an annual salary of $29.5 million, no one can tell you what you can and can’t spend your money on. And besides, he also contributes heavily to charities around the world, for causes like breast cancer research, feeding the homeless, and more.
Here are 20 sweet pictures of cars in the life of Steve Harvey.
Back in 2011, the Steve Harvey Morning Show formed a partnership with Ford for the Las Vegas 2011 Ford Hoodie Awards. One lucky winner and their betrothed would be chauffeured around in a 2011 Ford Explorer after Steve Harvey found the winner of the “Craziest Marriage Proposal.” Steve went on to continue the relationship with Ford, and in 2015 he posted a photo on his social media of a new 2016 Ford Explorer, urging people to see the car and be one of the first to own one. Here we see Steve and his wife in an Explorer as part of the Ford Neighborhood Awards Ride & Drive Experience, an event in Atlanta where celebrities and visitors were invited to test drive a plethora of new Ford vehicles.
Here’s another picture of Steve Harvey and his wife, Marjorie, who looks pretty fly in the driver’s seat of her new Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe that she got for her birthday. We’re not sure if this picture was taken after or before she broke down crying in Steve’s arms. Either way, she’s composed herself well here. The Drophead Coupe is famously the most expensive mass-produced car that Rolls-Royce offers to ordinary mortals, and for his third wife—the love of his life—Steve would only get her the best! You can’t fault the man for wanting to please his woman. What’s the saying? Happy wife, happy life.
Like we’ve said, Steve Harvey likes to have fun—both on and off the screen. He’s one of the most popular hosts of our time and seems to be introducing everyone and everything. He’s also shown up at golfing events—because what sport out there is more popular for the rich and wealthy than golf? Steve Harvey and Dr. Phil caused a ruckus on the green at ASU, both in golf carts, as they played a game of bumper cars, sort of. It’s even better that they’re both dressed in nice suits, like big shots, yet here they are clowning around like a couple of college kids!
Steve Harvey seems to have a special affection for pristine, crystal-clear white cars, probably because they look spotless. So much so, even, that his garage even has the same façade and boy, does it look awesome! This garage is probably attached either to his $3-million Plano Mansion in Atlanta, which is comprised of gold-trimmed velvet furniture, indoor golfing, a movie theater, and a bar. Or it could be part of his 6,400-sq-ft penthouse, a place that he spends $22,000 a month on. But with a salary of $29.5 million or thereabouts, don’t feel too bad for the guy.
While Steve got his beloved a $500,000 Rolls-Royce for her 50th birthday, she went ahead and spent a little over half the amount (but still $305,000!) on a brand new Bentley Mulsanne for his 59th birthday. This Bentley could be considered a brother-sister to the Rolls-Royce he got for his wife, so it’s a pretty appropriate gift and it was also appropriately wrapped in a red bow. After posting pictures of the car, which only gets 11 mpg, to his social media, he was then grilled by a six-year-old environmentalist on Little Big Shots. Henry the environmentalist then told Steve simply to “take a bus.”
Steve Harvey was a comedian before he was a presenter or TV show host, so it makes sense to see him with other like-minded comedians, such as Jerry Seinfeld—probably one of the only people Steve hangs around who is more successful than himself. In the episode featuring Harvey, Jerry picks him up in a smooth, vintage, black 1957 Chevy Bel Air, and asks him non-consequential questions about his life. For a show that has had the likes of Barack Obama on it, that’s a pretty prestigious spot to be in for the comedian, even for someone like Steve Harvey!
Steve Harvey is having a bit of a renaissance lately and he’s making some serious cash. So when he goes off to buy his wife a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe for her 50th birthday, you know he can afford the payments (or maybe he just bought it outright). The $500,000 gift for his wife, Marjorie, is pure white and looks utterly spotless. He delivered it to her complete with a red bow, like all $500,000 presents should be gifted, and Marjorie then went on to share pictures of the car on her social media pages, including one picture of an incredibly happy Marjorie crying in Harvey’s arms.
Even though Steve Harvey owns a Rolls-Royce Ghost of his own (which costs $311,900 new, by the way), this one was loaned to him, and he doesn’t seem particularly pleased with it, just judging on his facial expression alone. There’s a video online where he circles the car and one of his nearby friends says, “It’s too small.” The way Steve circles the car, it does seem like he’s debating whether to try getting in the car or not. We have to wonder why he had to borrow a Ghost for a day (and also how much it cost) but when money is no object, I suppose it doesn’t matter.
Steve Harvey appeared with the then-new 2013 Ford Taurus SHO in the film based on his best-selling book, “Think Like a Man,” in which he rolls around in this car. Many headlines from media outlets have stated that the Ford SHO really shines in the film. The film is about a group of guys who can’t seem to seal the deal when it comes to women and when their ladies buy Steve’s book, “Think Like a Man” and start applying it to their lives and relationships, the band of brothers gets all shook up. The main character and his friends conspire to use the book’s teachings to turn the tables on the ladies.
Considering how many ultra-luxury cars Steve Harvey owns (or has owned or driven in his lifetime), both from Rolls-Royce and Bentley, it should not be any real shock to see him buddying up with a Bentley salesman, pictured here. Steve posted this picture on his social media account, with the caption reading, “This guy Stan Mukoro at Bentley Atlanta is the best salesman in the entire south. Check him out,” and then he gives the guy’s tag—wherein Stan’s followers probably skyrocketed. We wonder if Stan sold all of Steve’s Bentleys to him—and if so, then he really must be the best salesman in the South!
Steve Harvey is a little bit like Oprah Winfrey, in the fact that on his show, he can pretty much do anything he wants. And he does, often gifting audience members and lucky winners with new cars and all sorts of other cool stuff. Here, Steve surprises a family on his talk show with a brand new Ford Edge. This was another part of the collaboration with Ford, called the Steve Harvey Morning Show Summer’s Edge Car Sweepstakes, which took place in 2015. The winner got this $32,000 Ford Edge. He also posted the contest to his social media account in 2015, where he ended up announcing the winner.
Steve Harvey has described his black Rolls-Royce Phantom as “pimpish” before and now that leaves us wondering what he would say about the white jet behind it. Steve partnered with a Nashville Jet Company and made an oral agreement to make a few changes to the Gulf Stream Jet, which would cost the company $400,000. In turn, Steve would lease the jet for $97,000 per month. But they got involved in a lawsuit when apparently Steve paid some of the money up front, but then decided he wasn’t going to need the jet and walked away from the deal. The jet company tried to recoup some of its investment and now ordinary people like you and I can lease the jet…provided you have $97,000 a month!
Steve Harvey likes to goof off—that much is clear. Sometimes it can get him into trouble but for the most part, one of his big selling points is that he’s safe for the whole family. On his talk shows, he frequently has on inspiring and motivational guests, which people love to see. He also has funny skits that people love, including this skit here where he rides around his set on a play tricycle. It took place during his segment called “Just One More Thing,” where he rides around on the High Roller Adult Size Big Wheel Drift Trike. It's a bit of a mouthful, but a pretty cool set of wheels nonetheless.
Here we see Steve alongside a beautiful Ford Mustang 5.0, which was part of another contest and collaboration with Ford (these competitions involving Steve Harvey seem to be a good use of money for the company). The Ford Mustang Hype-up-a-Ford contest introduced fans from around the world, who then made one-minute videos of their own Ford Mustangs, trying to hype them up and sell them to people. Some of the videos are pretty hilarious and the winner gets a matching Mustang 5.0. He’s had competitions with the Ford Edge, Ford Mustang, Ford Focus, Ford Flex, Ford Fusion, Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, and Ford F-150. Those people at Ford really know how to peddle their wares with celebrity endorsements!
This is a touching picture and was a touching segment in one of Steve Harvey’s many inspirational skits on his talk show. On the Steve Harvey Morning Show, an inspiring teen who beat breast cancer was surprised when she was awarded her very own, brand new Ford Focus. Arshawna Warren was given a giant check and the stunning blue car, with a “thank you” note from Harvey on his social media that read, “Big thanks to my friends at Ford for helping me honor a survivor.” It closed with the hashtags “moregooddays,” “surpriserideweek,” and @WarriorsInPink. What a great gift for a great cause!
This sweet black-and-white photo looks like something straight out of a GQ photoshoot (and there’s a high possibility that it was). Either way, here we see Steve looking fly in this vintage car—it’s hard to tell what kind of car it could be, but there are also images around of him driving in a classic 1957 Cadillac convertible and this could very well be that car. Actually, we’re almost positive it is. He’s been spotted in many other vintage cars, such as the 1957 Chevy with Jerry Seinfeld, and also an old, brown, vintage car of some kind with Jay Leno.
Steve Harvey and his big pearly white teeth are not just the face of his own shows, the shows he represents and hosts, as well as the companies he’s endorsed by. You can also find his face on the sides of vans and cars all across America because he’s a huge giver to charities across the country. For instance, here we see a driver as part of the X102.3 radio show. She’s representing the Steve Harvey Morning Show Turkey Giveaway, which he puts on every year. As kings and noteworthies across the land are famed for doing, he likes to give out turkeys to the poor during Thanksgiving, so that no one goes hungry. It's an admirable cause.
Steve Harvey’s story is a good one because of the trials and tribulations he had to deal with to get to where he is now. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth, which is probably why he’s so relatable and likable. People like to see a rags-to-riches story, which is literally the story of Steve Harvey. He struggled with homelessness in his youth, while living in LA trying to get famous, and he’s come out the other side with a veritable entertainment empire. He told PEOPLE Magazine that years ago (when he was 59), he was living in a 1988 Ford Tempo, using an Igloo cooler as a refrigerator, showering up in rest stop bathrooms, and trying to make it as a comedian.
You can’t ever say that Steve Harvey hasn’t done things for other people. Sure, we could all do more, but Steve has gone to great lengths to make sure people around him end up happy. Such was the case when he set up Chino High School basketball star Melanie Henderson with the prom date of her life: the #1 NBA prospect from Duke, Jahlil Okafor. Here we see them happily standing in front of a flashy Rolls-Royce (which only seems appropriate for Harvey), which they were loaned for the day to drive around. The puzzle makes sense now! When Steve’s friend said the Rolls-Royce Ghost he was borrowing was “too small,” this must have been the car they were referring to—since they knew Okafor is 6 foot, 11 inches tall!
As you can see, Steve Harvey’s face really is plastered all over the place on vans giving out free turkeys for Thanksgiving. We have to wonder how much he spends each year on these kinds of giveaways. This stylish lady in hot pink is driving a hot pink van for a 107.3 radio station, home of “Old School and Today’s R&B.” The 2018 SHMS Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway was sponsored last year by 95.7 R&B, a station endorsed by The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, as they fed families throughout the holidays. And that seems like a good place to end, so you know what kind of person Steve Harvey is. He doesn’t want anyone to end up how he ended up 30 years ago…
