The Chevy Is A True Survivor

The Chevrolet offered for sale is a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe 2 door. According to the NCRS Gold Seal shipping data report, this Corvette is the actual 1963 Corvette sold by the original dealer in Benson Chevrolet, Brooklyn, NY.

The car still has its original VIN 30837S118058 as of the day it left the factory. When discovered in the barn, the car although covered in dust and dirt retained its original Riverside Red color from day one, and there is the trim tag to that effect. The fiberglass body shows no signs of car body damage.

The engine that comes with the car is not the one it had the day it left the assembly line. But, the current engine is an original 1963 Corvette L76 327/340 hp dated December 10, 1962, stamped by the Chevrolet factory in 1962 for 1963 production cars.

Its restoration cost around $9,000. So, both the motor and the four-speed manual transmission are not original to this car, but they are period correct. The car is running and in good condition.

The restoration included powder coating all the mechanical suspension parts for long-term metal protection. The original four bumpers from 1963 received triple plating to keep their original day one shine.

This rear-wheel-drive Corvette has brand-new knock-off turbine-style wheels. A nice bonus is all four original 15-inch steel wheels, with reportedly BF Goodrich 1963 tires, are in good shape that hold air, and four 1963 original factory hubcaps. The seller will let them go with the car to the new owner at no extra cost.

The black interior underwent complete restoration too, so there are brand-new door panels, headliners, glove compartment, and all the upholstery. The dashboard framed by a three-spoke steering wheel has a 160 mph calibrated speedometer, a tachometer, oil pressure, fuel gauges, etc., all in perfect order. The odometer shows 3,055 miles that the car did after the restoration, but the actual mileage is unknown. The wipers, radio, and analog clock are working. All the glass on the car is factory date-coded and in good condition.

All in all, this car is stunning and would be a great investment for the future.
