TV and movie stars seem like they have it all—the good looks, the money, the fame. All of the actors and actresses on this list are worth at least eight figures. They can literally have anything money can buy, for the most part, including any car they might want to own. But some of these actors and actresses prefer to drive the cars they drove before they became famous. And some of those cars are serious clunkers.

But that’s not a problem, because when you have all the money in the world, who cares what other people think? Clearly, the people on this list do not. Everyone on here could own a Bugatti Veyron should they so choose, but they simply choose not to. They have better things to focus their time and money on than flashy rides. And they don’t have to impress anyone.

Of course, there are others on this list who make car collecting a serious side profession. This school of thought goes like this: When money is no object, why settle for anything other than the best? Despite these two schools of thought, there are still some famous stars out there driving some laughable cars.

Let’s take a look at 15 movie and TV stars who drive ugly cars, followed by 10 who drive awesome cars.

25 No Taste: George Clooney’s Tango T600

via Hybrid Cars

You might be wondering: “What is the word ‘ugly’ doing next to George Clooney?” Luckily, we’re only talking about his car here. Clooney bought one of these ultra-narrow electric sports cars years ago. It’s built by Commuter Cars and looks like a box. And yet, somehow this car sells for $108,000! Clooney was actually the first person to get his hands on the Tango kit back on August 9, 2005. It was a major milestone for the company, having a famous celebrity endorse their car. The second car eventually made its way into the second-floor office of Google CEO Eric Schmidt as part of an April Fools’ joke.

24 No Taste: Tom Hanks’ 1974 Fiat 126

via Driving

Back in 2017, Tom Hanks received this car from Polish fans of his. The headline from News Center described it thus: “Tom Hanks receives iconic ‘toddler’ car from Polish fans.” Depending on who you ask, this is either a really sleek, cool little ride, or an ugly sore that can barely make it over speed-bumps.

Hanks received it as a birthday present, and he seemed to like it.

It’s a fully restored version of the Fiat 126 microcar, and was crowd-sourced by a fan from Hungary who managed to raise $2,000 to purchase one. Hanks would jokingly take pictures alongside it, saying, “I am so excited about my new car!”

23 No Taste: Mel Gibson’s Toyota Cressida

via Wikipedia

Mel Gibson is probably the most famous Australian-American actor on the planet, and he’s featured in some of the biggest box office hits since the 1970s. So what is he doing driving a $10,000 Toyota Cressida straight out of the 1990s, you might wonder? With a reported net worth of $400 million, he could own any car he wants. But he prefers this simple and economical ride to anything flashy. Maybe he just wants to save on gas (though we doubt the sky blue Cressida gets that great of gas mileage). Or maybe he just cares more about other things than cars, like angering the entire Hollywood elite.

22 No Taste: Tom Hanks’ Scion xB

via Car and Driver

Tom Hanks is the only actor to grace this side of the list twice, unfortunately. It’s a shame because he’s such a good actor and seems like such a genuinely nice guy. But his taste in cars seems to be a bit more unfortunate—besides owning a Toyota Prius and the aforementioned Fiat, he also owns this Scion xB. Furthermore, he actually loves to drive this thing. He must really have an endearing relationship with boxy cars. New, this car costs only $16,000—pennies against his $350 million net worth.

21 No Taste: Jennifer Lawrence’s Volkswagen Eos

via The Car Connection

Many stars of Hollywood are starting to become eco-friendly in recent years, driving around in Priuses and cars like this one, the Volkswagen Eos. Jennifer Lawrence is one of the industry's freshest faces who has succumbed to bettering the environment through her choice of automobile.

Luckily, Lawrence can make anything look good, even this bland vehicle.

For the highest paid actress in the world in 2015, this car might come as a surprise. Compared to her $130 million net worth in 2017 (which I’m sure has only gone up since then), this $24,000 ride seems cheap.

20 No Taste: Conan O’Brien’s Ford Taurus SHO

via Old Parked Cars

Conan O’Brien is a heavy hitter in the entertainment industry. He’s been a major figure ever since writing for The Simpsons, and he obviously has his own late show now. His net worth is estimated to be around $85 million, while this old, 1990s Ford Taurus only cost $28,000 back in its heyday. O’Brien is a man of simple tastes, clearly. You wouldn’t expect a famous television host to ride around in such a car, but he actually enjoys it. He obviously owns other cars, but this one holds a special place in his heart.

19 No Taste: Leonardo DiCaprio’s BMW i3 “Spaghetti Car”

via BMW Blog

Okay, this one isn’t actually owned by Leonardo DiCaprio (he actually has very good taste in cars), but it was auctioned off at one of his events. He also owns a Prius, by the way. The year after finally achieving his life-long goal of winning the Academy Award for Best Actor, the actor auctioned off this spaghetti-themed BMW i3 during a Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation event. It was during the Fourth Annual Saint-Tropez Gala, where several other unique items were auctioned off and all the proceeds went to helping out the environment. So at least it all went to a good cause, and it even brought in $117,656.50. The auction actually raised $30 million in total.

18 No Taste: Clint Eastwood’s GMC Typhoon

via SODO Moto

We’ll admit, Clint Eastwood doesn’t seem like the kind of man who would mess around with flashy, fancy cars. He’s got names to take and bigger things to do. The action movie star is one of the most well-known names in movies and has a net worth of $370 million or more.

The actor has a soft spot for his GMC Typhoon, though, which cost $30,000 when new back in the 90s.

This is obviously pocket change for someone like Eastwood, but some things are better left simple. He’s been seen riding around in his Typhoon quite often, so it’s clearly something he’s fond of—while the opinions of others are something he clearly doesn’t care about.

17 No Taste: Ludacris’ 1993 Acura Legend

via Kiwi Reports

Admittedly, this isn’t that ugly of a car. Especially after it was restored for the rapper-turned-actor, it looks pretty sweet. But from a strictly financial perspective, this is not the car you might expect someone like Luda to be driving. If you’re one of the people who estimates the value of a driver based on their ride, you’d think Ludacris was broke. And you’d be wrong, because the man also known as Christopher Bridges is actually worth at least $25 million. The Fast and Furious actor doesn’t drive around in a hopped up GT-R or NSX or anything like that, preferring instead a simple car that would cost no more than $1,500 in the current market.

16 No Taste: Christian Bale’s Toyota Tacoma

via Custom Tacos

Considering all the fancy, awesome cars and vehicles Christian Bale drove in his Batman appearances, you might expect the actor to drive something equally as fancy in real life. But Christian Bale is another one of those actors that prefers simplicity to flashiness. Instead, he drives this ‘90s Toyota Tacoma, worth around $25,000 brand new. The Dark Knight trilogy secured Christian Bale as a household name, bringing in at least $2.3 billion in worldwide ticket sales. Bale’s slice of the pie must have been high, because he’s worth at least $80 million, but he doesn’t need to drive a Lamborghini Aventador like Bruce Wayne to impress anybody.

15 No Taste: John Goodman’s 1997 Ford F-150

via Wikipedia

John Goodman is another actor who has appeared in just about everything, and his $65 million net worth always seems to be growing. The celebrated actor could drive anything he wants, but he prefers to drive around in his old ’97 Ford F-150 more than anything else.

Since its price has depreciated, this truck wouldn’t sell for more than $5,000 in today’s world.

So why does he drive it? Who knows, he just likes it. It’s probably one of the reasons he’s been able to maintain his millionaire status for so long: making sound financial decisions that don’t break the bank.

14 No Taste: Zac Efron’s 1999 Oldsmobile Alero

via Wikipedia

Zac Efron has become quite a name in his own right over the past few years. The successful child actor is one of the few who managed to transition to a successful adult actor. Since the High School Musical days, Efron has become a renowned and accomplished actor. But unlike many other good-looking, prosperous actors his age, he doesn’t care that much about cars. So he drives this pre-21st century Oldsmobile Alero—a car that is defunct, from a company that is also defunct! Making moves like that, we’re sure he’ll only continue to grow his $18 million bank account.

13 No Taste: David Spade’s 1987 Buick Grand National

via Wikipedia

Funny-man David Spade has acted in some very memorable movies, most notably alongside Chris Farley before his passing and before Spade really hit the big time. He’s one of the leading comedy actors out there, having acted in films such as Rules of Engagement, 8 Simple Rules, Hot in Cleveland, and more. Even with a net worth of $60 million, Spade opts to drive in his 1987 Buick Grand National. Maybe he drives this car to remind him of simpler times, as he’s reported to have a sentimental attachment to this vehicle because of its rarity.

12 No Taste: Cameron Diaz’s Toyota Prius

via Edge Automotive Sales

You must have known at least one Toyota Prius was going to be mentioned on this list, but you might be surprised about who’s driving it. Well, don’t be, because more and more Hollywood superstars are driving Priuses and other gas-saving, eco-friendly vehicles these days. Diaz rose to fame after her heartthrob role in The Mask and has since starred in some of Hollywood’s biggest productions. These days, she’s all about saving the planet she lives on, which we definitely can’t slight her for. She’s often seen riding around in her black Prius, which is not the prettiest car, even if it has the prettiest driver.

11 No Taste: Chris Hemsworth’s Acura MX

via The Drive

Thanks to playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth has become one of the biggest stars working in Hollywood today. The Australian actor, with his insane good looks, happens to drive something that seems a bit out of place: this amorphous blob called the Acura MDX. Acura spent a huge amount of money sponsoring the Thor films, shoehorning their new fleet into the films whenever they could and going so far as to buy a car for Hemsworth. Luckily, Hemsworth can make anything look good, though we think he’d look better driving at least an NSX.

10 Cool: Justin Timberlake’s Alfa Romeo Spider

via Wikipedia

Justin Timberlake has quite a few cool cars in his collection including a 1967 Pontiac GTO he fell in love with after driving it on a film and a blacked-out Jeep. But none are (arguably) cooler than this 1968 Alfa Romeo Spider, which he was seen driving around the Italian countryside alongside Jessica Biel.

Is there anything more romantic than this car, with Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel in it enjoying the Italian countryside?

We didn’t think so. The lovebirds made their own little home video as they gaily drove through the countryside in the convertible Spider, as if they were superstars in a 1960s Italian black and white romance film.

9 Cool: Jeremy Piven’s Ford Bronco

via Pinterest

If this were any kind of modern Ford Bronco out right now, Jeremy Piven would probably be on the other side of this list. But this is a vintage, classic Bronco, and it just looks awesome. The Entourage star—who reportedly earned $100,000 per episode—has made quite a name for himself since his days as Ari Gold, but he still continues to drive this brown Bronco. He doesn’t have it splashed out with wheels or fancy paint, but this is a pretty memorable car that is sure to turn heads anyway, especially when people see who’s driving it.

8 Cool: Patrick Dempsey’s Jaguar XK120

via Just Jared

The first car Patrick Dempsey ever drove was a classic Porsche that he bought right off the street. It was a 1963 Porsche 356, which is an amazing car, and he still owns it. But perhaps even cooler than that car is his 1954 Jaguar XK120. Dempsey had his Jaguar restored and restored again, but he recently got rid of it. He regrets that decision, telling the Telegraph that “I really should have kept hold of it.” We agree, because he looked quite dashing in it, and it’s really a unique car to be seen driving around Hollywood. Whatever, though, the actor’s worth $60 million, so he can always buy a new one if he wants.

7 Cool: Ice-T’s Fisker Karma

via Twitter

Ice-T and his family have some pretty amazing cars. He is frequently seen posing in front of them with his wife, Coco, and riding around the New York City streets in them. Some of those cars include a Bentley Continental GT with a candy apple paint job, a widebody Mercedes-Benz SL, an Aston Martin, a Rolls-Royce Ghost, and this awesome car, the Fisker Karma. Ice-T calls this rare car his “Space Shuttle.” While at around $103,000, it might be less expensive than his Bentley or Aston Martin or Rolls, it’s still probably the coolest looking car he owns.

6 Cool: Matt LeBlanc’s Porsche 911 GT2 RS

via Wikipedia

Matt LeBlanc has a pretty serious car collection, including his own bulldozer that he can build speedways with (it’s true, look it up). But the coolest car in the Friend's garage is probably this Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

This car costs $294,250 when new, but with $60 million in the bank, that kind of price hardly fazes LeBlanc.

It runs on a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo, DOHC flat-six engine and is the most powerful 911 ever sold to the public. It's smashing long-held track records with its 690 horsepower, plus it looks great. LeBlanc clearly made a wise decision with this purchase. He also owns a bunch of other Porsches, but none as cool as this one.
