Addictive Desert Designs is back again with another new set of bumpers for Chevy and GMC pickups.
Last we heard from the folks over at ADD, they brought to our attention a brand new bumper that makes the Ford Raptor into even more of an off-road monster. It was fully bolt-on, meaning it was easy to install with a socket wrench and a few hours in a garage.
The final product gave you a Raptor with a much-improved approach angle and a very clean look at the pickups amazing FOX Racing shocks.
And now ADD is back again with another version of their minimalist bumper design, but this time for the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. It’s called the Rock Fighter bumper, and as the name implies it’s for getting over and around those craggy outcroppings that would normally scuff a regular bumper into oblivion.
The front bumper is only for the most recent generation of Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and it requires the frame to be cut in order to install. That’s not an easy job for the usual handyman, so it might be best to get in touch with a real garage to install this bumper on your pickup unless you happen to have a blowtorch or a grinder handy.
However, all that effort is certainly worth it. The Rock Fighter frame-cut front bumper shows off the suspension of your pickup just as the Raptor bumper does while still including a skid plate to protect the truck’s more delicate internals. Along with increasing the approach angle, it also comes with space for a 40” radius light bar or a set of 10 LED light cubes.

The Rock Fighter rear bumper can work with any Silverado or GMC Sierra that’s model year 2014 to 2018. This bumper is entirely bolt-on, so you can install it without needing to worry about things like cutting the frame. You will, however, need to worry about the pickups trailer hitch, which will either need to be removed or modified in order to fit the new bumper.
As with the front bumper, the Rock Fighter rear bumper shows off your shocks and increases the truck’s departure angle for better off-roading.
The front bumper clocks in at $1,799, while the rear bumper is just $949. Both are on sale now at ADD’s website.
