British Alfa Romeo tuners Alfaholics have developed a deserved reputation for creating some of the most gorgeous and potent Alfa Romeo restomods in the world. And now, the Bristol-based company has taken things a step further and unveiled a full carbon fiber body kit that transforms the iconic Alfa Romeo 105 (also known as the original Giulia) into something more respectable in the modern era.

The kit remains in its infant stages—pricing has not even been announced yet, but rest assured, it will be very high—but Alfaholics' promises weight shavings that turn the nimble, lightweight sports car into a legit powerhouse.

Woven Weave

Carbon fiber weave might looks amazing in raw form, but by now, everyone should know that the miracle material is all about shaving poundage while increasing strength. As compared to its steel-bodied counterpart, Alfaholics claims their full carbon conversion shaves 70 kilograms, or about 154 pounds. Of course, a carbon-fiber body alone wouldn't do the trick for detail-minded gents like those at Alfaholics, so other goodies in what they've taken to calling the GTA-R 300 Carbon include a billet titanium suspension package for additional weight savings and suspension tuning.

All Together Now

That name gets its number from the power-to-weight ratio of the carbon-bodied build, which clocks in at 300 horsepower-per-ton. At this point, that number is a mere estimate, though, as the build isn't even completed yet. But the brothers Banks—Andrew, Richard, and Max—who own Alfaholics clearly want this project to remain highly exclusive reserving the carbon bodies for the pinnacle of the GTA-R lineup, which also includes the GTA-R 290 and its carbon-fiber trunk lid, roof, and doors.

A Waiting Game

One of the most interesting photos is viewable above, showing the interior of the body as it is form-fitted with a carbon-fiber exterior. All that weave results in a still-impressive savings of about 83 pounds compared to the current range-topper, the GTA-R 290. While none of these cars are going to be screamers compared to say, a McLaren 720s that pumps out 500 horsepower per ton, they'll still be much more engaging than the original 105's 1.6-liter, twin-cam inline-four.
