Lamborghini officially plans to ditch the V12 that made the company famous with the termination of the Aventador, though all indications point to plenty of final hurrahs as the engine slowly but surely makes its way out the door. One of the most intriguing comes in the form of an as-yet named supercar that Lambo has teased since October of 2019, all in advance of a planned Summer 2020 official reveal. Now, as the build-up intensifies, Lamborghini has released a track video featuring the car's exhaust note and some strange camera angles to help stoke the fires of anticipation.

Hear Me Roar

The new car is being built by Lamborghini's track-focused Centro Stile department of the Squadra Corsa division and will feature the classic V12 displacing 6.5 liters and tuned to a mammoth 830 horsepower. The exhaust note in the video above is enough to send chills down the spine if the volume is turned up to 11.

The track clip follows another teaser video posted early showing the car's first fire-up, though no bodywork was visible in the previous release. Now, hidden beneath aggressive orange camouflage, the new car starts to take on a more identifiable form ahead of its world premiere.

So far, images of the forthcoming track star have revealed a ton of aerodynamic goodies, massive exhaust tips, a Formula 1-style brake light at the rear, and a what should be stressed-member transaxle—if not the V12 itself.

Lamborghini has also revealed the car will feature a racing hood including dual air intakes, a full carbon-fiber monocoque with an aluminum front subframe, plus an "innovative self-locking type differential which allows better driveability on the circuit." Center-locking wheels shod in the F1-standard Pirelli tires will also fit into the mix.
