The Oldsmobile Cutlass remains a favorite among classic car fans today, even though General Motors killed off the Oldsmobile brand around 2004.

The Cutlass is still a common sight at cars shows and drag strips all across America today despite the fact the car went out of production in 1999.

Many of these Oldsmobile Cutlasses get modified and produce prodigious amounts of power - that includes the one featured in a video posted on YouTube by 1320Video.

This Oldsmobile Cutlass produces 850hp; that amount of power often results in nothing but wheel spin when launching a rear-wheel-drive Cutlass.

But - this one has a modified all-wheel-drive system enabling it to do some spectacular launches.

This Oldsmobile Cutlass Has Lots of Modifications Including Carbon Fiber

This is certainly not your father's Oldsmobile - this Cutlass has modifications all throughout the interior and exterior; there are carbon fiber parts everywhere which help keep the weight down to 3600lbs.

The exterior has a black and silver paint scheme accented by red and silver pinstripes - the car rides on a set of 18-inch Weld S71 rims adorned with a Toyo Proxes R888r tires.

The engine is a 427 LSX from Texas Speed and Performance, it receives boost from an F1-X supercharger from Procharger.

Its transmission is a 4L70-E from Norfolk Transmission.

This Oldsmobile Cutlass has everything needed to succeed at the drag strip - the all-wheel-drive system and Toyo Proxes R888r tires enables it to effectively put all 850hp to the pavement.

In the video, this car's owner, Brian King mentions that the best time he has gotten for this car is an impressive 6.3 seconds.

The video then shows the Olds Cutlass lining up in drag races against some different cars, the first is a burnt-orange classic described simply as an LS.

King's Cutlass wins this race with a time of 6.38 compared to 7.09 for the competitor.

The next matchup is against a pink Audi TT.

Both cars get off the line well thanks to all-wheel-drive, the race stays close to the end, with the Cutlass finishing with a time of 6.29 versus 6.55 for the Audi; but the Cutlass left the line too early and so the Audi gets declared the winner.

The night is not over for the Oldsmobile Cutlass as it moves on to the burnout competition.

Brian King and his Oldsmobile Cutlass finish the night by doing the king of all burnouts.

With 850hp on tap, there is no lack of power to do a burnout, with the power going to all four wheels, it is possible to smoke all four tires as opposed to just two.

The amount of tire smoke created by this burnout looks like it came from a forest fire, the appreciative crowd chants, "one more time" as Brian and his Oldsmobile Cutlass drive away.
