10 Herbie The Love Bug
Herbie The Love Bug is one of the most iconic cars in cinema history, with the entire movie being based around the vehicle, it was important that the car choice was done to perfection here.
Thankfully, that is exactly what happened with Herbie being infectious and full of personality, the car became beloved by people, and with several cars used throughout filming, there are actually lots of Herbie's around the world.
The most common place to find Herbie is inside museums with cars being in Korea, Germany, England, and the U.S., with only seven in private ownership, whilst one is often brought around into the Disney theme parks every now and then.
9 Starsky And Hutch
Starsky And Hutch is another iconic Hollywood hit that became incredibly popular, and while the car wasn't quite as important as the previous example, the red Ford Gran Torino certainly served its purpose.
The classic car became very iconic with its white stripes being a very eye-catching design, with the car being involved in the movie several times which led to Ford creating numerous cars for the filming process.
The US manufacturer claims it produced 1,300 ran Torinos that were sold through dealerships solely based on the success of the show, with an original being sold for around $40,000.
8 Knight Rider
Starring David Hasselhoff, this show was a blockbuster hit in the 1980s, and the Hoff spent a large part of it inside the car that was dubbed 'K.I.T.T' and played a crucial role in the success of Knight Rider.
A collector ended up buying the original vehicle and then tried to sell it on eBay but had to pull the sale due to the sheer amount of people who were wanting to buy the car, with the response being too high.
Interestingly, another version of the car is owned by none other than chatshow host Jay Leno, who is known for having an incredible collection of cars.
7 The Spy Who Loved Me
Throughout the history of James Bond movies, the English spy has had the opportunity to drive some incredible cars, all of which have had different gadgets in order to help 007 achieve his targets.
In The Spy Who Loved Me, Bond drove a Lotus Espirit which actually turned into a submarine during the film, being capable of working in the water, which obviously made it incredibly memorable.
The car ended up in a shipping container for over 10 years after production wrapped, with the container eventually being auctioned off and Elon Musk ended up buying it for £550,000.
6 Goldfinger/Thunderball
Speaking of vehicles from the James Bond franchise, arguably the most iconic car that the character has ever driven is the Aston Martin DB5, which Sean Connery started using in Goldfinger and Thunderball.
Daniel Craig's version of Bond has also gotten a spin in the luxury vehicle, with this being the perfect car to suit James Bond in terms of its style as well as the substance, with the vehicle being incredibly powerful.
The Aston Martin was first sold to US radio DJ, Jerry Lee for just $12,000, and he went on to sell it in 2010 making a huge profit on the car as it went for $4.1 million.
5 Furious 7
There are countless incredible cars throughout the entire Fast & Furious franchise and many of them are located around the world, whether that be in museums or by being privately owned.
However, this ride that was used by Jason Statham's character was a custom beast built specifically for this movie with only six being created, and only three surviving the actual filming.
These cars are all owned by Universal Studios and have been displayed in the theme parks from time to time, especially to promote new movies or theme park attractions based around the movies.
4 Kill Bill
This famous car was used in Kill Bill and became a huge fan favorite with moviegoers loving the tongue in cheek joke and the fact that Quentin Tarantino had the guts to push the boundaries that far.
While the car has been loaned out, most recently to Lady Gaga who used the vehicle in a music video, showing her love for the violent movie, the original vehicle is actually owned by just one person.
That person, is Tarantino himself, with the famous director keeping the vehicle for himself, although he has only used it once on a road trip to Las Vegas from LA.
3 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was an important car that, while looking particularly crazy, was very important to the film in order for it to be a success, with the flying vehicle needing to be nailed to perfection.
The car took inspiration from racing vehicles built in the early 1920s and had a motor from a Zeppli Dirigible inside of it. While it might not be the most aesthetically pleasing car on this list, there's no doubt it is iconic.
The original car was purchased by a UK DJ called Chris Evans for $650,000, but he went on to make a sizeable profit on that when he sold the car to auction for an incredible $14.3 million!
2 The Ghostbusters
When you think about The Ghostbusters, your mind likely goes to the ghosts and ghouls that can be found within the film, from Slimer to the iconic Marshmellow Man, but the 'Ecto-1 Car' was certainly just as memorable and iconic.
The team used the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance in order to get around from point A to B in order to capture as many ghosts as possible, with the car fitting the theme of being quite futuristic at the time.
Sadly, the car which was used isn't in a good state anymore, with the vehicle being parked at the Sony Pictures prop lot in California and was left to rot so badly that fans have started a petition to get the vehicle restored.
1 Back To The Future
Back To The Future is one of the greatest movies of all time and while it is the characters and storylines that have helped make it so iconic, there is no doubt that the DeLorean is a huge hit for the film.
Throughout the movie, only seven vehicles were used in production to shoot the film and despite the fact that they took great care of them in order tog et the best shots possible, only three of the cars actually survived.
Two of the three vehicles can be found inside the Universal Studios theme parks on display for photo opportunities, and the other was auctioned away, costing $541,000.
