American Fastbacks can now turn your Jeep Wrangler into a camper van.
There are plenty of aftermarket parts manufacturers for the Jeep Wrangler--everything from bumpers to fenders can be replaced with something new. That’s part of the Jeep charm. American Fastbacks specializes in giving Jeep Wranglers new hardtop roofs that reduce ride noise and the number of bugs you need to scrape out from between your teeth.
Their latest creation is something that does more than just improve your Wrangler’s ride. It actually turns the entire car into a mobile campsite.
What starts life as Jeep Wrangler Sport of Sahara trim becomes a tiny Jeep RV by the time American Fastbacks are done with it. They install a brand new roof with a fold-out sleeping compartment, and covert the rear trunk area into another sleeping area with a stove, a sink, and a fridge.
Just about the only thing missing is a bathroom, but unfortunately even American Fastbacks’ ingenuity has its limits. You’ll be forced to use a nearby tree until they can figure it out.

The two sleeping areas are fitted with comfortable padding and can sleep a potential of 4 people, but probably only two or three comfortably. A ladder helps with ascending to the roof-mounted sleeping spot, while the rear cargo area pulls double duty as sleeping and living area. There is a 2-burner propane stove top, a 12-volt fridge, and a stainless steel sink to wash hands and dishes.
Of course, the rest of this Wrangler is hardly stock. American Fastbacks has give it new leather seats, a MOPAR 2.5-inch suspension lift, Fox racing shocks, 20” wheels, 35” tires, a custom grille with LED light strip, new custom vented hood, new custom front bumper with winch, new running boards, new fenders, and a fire extinguisher with mount.
American Fastbacks has dubbed their Wrangler RV the “Badlands”. Pricing wasn’t announced, but you can contact your local American Fastbacks dealer for more info.
