The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. Comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, this band is possibly one of the most influential of all time. The group was a key part of the development of the counterculture present during the 1960s, pushing anti-establishment and gaining momentum as the Civil Rights Movement continued to grow.

The sound of The Beatles incorporated classical music, traditional pop, balls, Indian music, to psychedelic rock. Pioneering musical styles and recording styles, The Beatles revolutionized the music industry.

Throughout such an illustrious and stellar career, each member of the band amassed a mini-fortune, which helped contribute to their luxurious lifestyles and ample car collections. One of them even owned an Aston Martin - a car that Jeremy Clarkson is absolutely obsessed with. Keep reading to see what Beatles' member owned a Ferrari Dino during his prime, similar to this Dino with a restored Ferrari F40 engine.

Let's dive deeper to see some of the cars The Beatles drove...

Paul McCartney's 1966 Aston Martin DB6

via Classic Driver

First up for the cars this infamous band drove, let's check out Paul McCartney's whip. Unveiled at the London Motor Show in late 1965, the 1966 Aston Martin featured almost an identical Tadek Marek-designed overhead camshaft six-cylinder engine and longer wheelbase. The DB6 underwent some exterior changes, like split bumpers and a higher roofline, and also gained performance benefits like high-speed stability and more interior room.

The Superleggera construction used in the previous DB4 and 5, utilizing aluminum alloy wrapped around a steel frame, was ditched in favor of an alloy and folded metal. This resulted in a stronger and sturdier car, with only a slight weight increase.

The Aston Martin DB6 could go from 0-97km/h in 8.4 seconds, and could reach a top speed of 216km/h. With a 5-speed manual transmission, this car went for a little over $5,000 in the UK at the time of sale, with it now costing approximately $180,000.

Although McCartney already owned a DB5, he decided to increase the value of his car collection by including the DB6. He used Aston Martins as his daily vehicle around London, and used this car to visit the rest of his bandmates who had moved to suburban estates during the time he purchased this car.

After Pete Best was kicked out of the band (so sorry, Pete), Ringo Starr was the next in line. Ringo gained this car in 1964, complete with a Chrysler Typhoon engine, chassis number HK2, and costing a whopping $6000 at the time of sale.

It provided the necessary image for one of the biggest superstars of the time period, with a raised-block V8, quad tailpipes, 390 horsepower engine, and chic exterior look. It can go from 0-97km/h in 7.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 213km/h. It has a 4-speed manual transmission and now goes for $312,000 on the market.

This car is slightly different from the other ones in this list, since George purchased this vehicle right after The Beatles broke up. Nevertheless, this car is fit for a rock star. It is a two-seater with a tubular steel chassis, 2418cc V6, 5-speed manual, and styled by Pininfarina.

Today, this car is owned by Jeff Amos, who bought the car from a marque specialist, Jeff Fosker. Fosker sold the car after four years to Jeff Amos, who enjoys driving around this well-balanced and stylish sports car.

John Lennon had a love for cars - there is no denying it. He bought this car in 1967 at the Earls Court show. At low speeds, it is not the best to handle, but the high-speed performance is better than you might expect.

The torque from the Chevrolet V8 comes together and creates a smooth thrust, sharpens the steering, and tightens the handling for ease of use. It goes from 0-97km/h in 7.8 seconds and its top speed is 197km/h. With a 2-speed automatic, this car now goes for over $40,000 on the market.
