Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken luxury and environmental consciousness to a whole new level. The former governor of California and movie star commissioned Kreisel to build him a one-of-a-kind, all-electric G-Wagon.

We don't know what's more exciting here; the fact that it's an electric SUV, or that it is owned by the Terminator. But it's a bit of both when you think about it.

Schwarzenegger is known for his luxury cars. He owns some of the most expensive and rarest cars in the world. But his latest car might just be his most unique yet.

Arguably, he also became the first person in the world to own an electric G-Wagon, and it cost him a whopping $1 million. The vehicle was presented to Arnold at the Kreisel plant in Kitzbuehel, Austria.

This isn't just some regular electric car. It's a powerhouse that was built to Arnold's specifications. Of course, it wasn't easy to turn the gas-guzzling G-Wagon into an eco-friendly machine. But the team at Kreisel did an amazing job, and the end result is incredible.

Here's everything you need to know about Arnold Schwarzenegger's all-electric G-Wagon.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Electric G-Wagon: The Amazing Conversion

This G-wagon wasn't originally built to be electric. It was an ICE (internal combustion engine) SUV that was converted by Kreisel. Notably, Kreisel is a company known for its electric car conversions. So when Arnold approached them about turning his G-Wagon into an electric car, they were more than happy to execute the project.

It took the team three months to complete the project. But the wait was worth it because the end result is a work of art. Both the exterior and interior of the SUV remain mostly unchanged. The only thing that gives away its new electric identity is the charging port on the front grill and two batteries at the engine's position.

The original G-Wagon weigh 7500lbs (3400kgs) and was reduced to just 6400lbs (2900 kg)- the final product now being lighter and more efficient. But that doesn't mean that it's weaker. It's quite the opposite.

The electric G-Wagon now has two electric motors that produce a combined output of 500 horsepower (same as before). The SUV has a 190-mile range on a single charge and slows down the car automatically when going downhill or at an intersection. It can move from 0 to mph in just 5.6 seconds

The best part about this transformation is that it doesn't sacrifice any of the original G-Wagon's off-roading capabilities. The electric motors are located in the same place as the old engine. So the center of gravity remains unchanged. This means that the car still has the same excellent balance and handling, even on rough terrain.

The only downside to this whole project is the cost. It's not cheap to convert an ICE car into an electric one. Hence, Schwarzenegger paid Kreisel around $1 million for the conversion. But Arnold isn't worried about the cost. He's just happy to be on the front line of electric vehicle technology.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Is A Champion Of Renewable Energy And Clean Air

Arnold Schwarzenegger has long been a champion of renewable energy and clean air. In fact, one of his key platforms, when he ran for governor of California, was to move the state away from its dependence on fossil fuels and towards a cleaner energy future.

And he followed through on that promise: under his leadership, California became a leader in renewable energy, with more solar power installed than any other state in the U.S. He even called leaders who ignore climate change "stupid." "There is no Republican or Democratic air,” he said. “We all breathe the same air."

Now, Schwarzenegger is taking his commitment to clean energy one step further with the purchase of an electric G-Wagon. The G-Wagon is now a zero-emission vehicle, which means that it doesn't produce any harmful exhaust fumes. This is good news for the environment. And it's also good news for Arnold's health. He even took his Hummer back to Kreisel for conversion.

"I want to prove to the world that it is not the car that is bad. It's the technology under the hood that is the baludo." He told Leno when taking a drive in the G-Wagon. "So, therefore, let's improve the technology, and we could drive any car that we want."

As expensive as it may be, the G-Wagon's transformation is a clear signal that Schwarzenegger is serious about his commitment to a clean energy future – and that he's willing to put his money where his mouth is. Leading by example is always the best way to effect change and, with this purchase, Schwarzenegger is doing just that.
