Aston Martin has been dishing out absolute beauties in the DB series from the late '40s. The cars have gotten recognition on the racetrack as well as with the automobile markets all over the world. I guess everyone remembers the Aston Martin DB5 from James Bond which established the Aston Martin as an integral part of the James Bond Fandom. It went as far as having them in a total of 8 James Bond installations.

The Aston Martin DB models have become a benchmark on which the rest of their lineups are based out. The latest addition to the famed Aston Martin DB series is the Aston Martin DB11. Aston Martin DB models have been fast and have a sense of elegance to them. Even though the previous models weren't that much of a letdown when it came to speed. Still, the Aston Martin DB11 is the first DB model to be boasting a top speed of 200 mph. The DB11 might have a lower capacity than its predecessors, but it makes up for it with the turbocharged engine. The DB11 has been engineered to have not just the most powerful, but the most efficient engine in the Aston Marin history.

The Aston Martin DB11 has three variants: the V8 Model, the Volante Convertible, and lastly the high-performance AMR Edition. The V8 Model and the Volante Convertible both have similar power and top speeds as they are equipped with the 4.0L twin-turbo V8. The V8 model is able to dish out 503 hp and boasts a top speed of 187 miles per hour. It goes from 0-62 miles per hour in just about 3.9 seconds, whereas the Volante Convertible takes 4.1 seconds for the same.

Coming on to the AMR Edition of the DB11. The AMR Edition which stands for Aston Martin Racing is a beast. It is powered by a 5.2L V12 Turbocharged Engine which dishes out 630 HP, and a 526 lb-ft torque. The AMR Edition boasts a top speed of 208 miles per hour and clocks 0-62 in just 3.7 seconds.

Three Modes To Choose in the Cleanest & Most Fuel Efficient DB

Via Aston Martin

The DB11 has been designed in a way where the three modes: GT, Sport, and the Sport Plus give the DB11 three distinctive characters. In the GT mode, we get a quieter operation, and it is rather well suited for the bumpy road as the suspensions are also set to their softest. When the road is smoother and better, one can shift back to Sport or the Sport Plus mode where you can actually hear the engine roaring and the race-like exhausts. The suspensions are also tightened to keep up with the high-performance requirement.

Even with all that speed and power, one would find it hard to believe that the Aston Martin DB11 is the cleanest and also the most fuel-efficient DB to ever have come into production. This is achieved with its cylinder shut-off technology to save fuel while cruising on long freeway drives. But, if you wish for performance, you can switch at the push of a button, and high performance is delivered at your fingertips.

Design of the Db11: An Elegant, Classy Icon

Via Aston Martin

Aston Martin DB11 is an icon, it is going to be the standard-bearer for Aston Martin's all-new generation of cars. The Aston Martin is not just all about performance it is about elegance, about luxury. In Matt Leblanc's words "The DB11, it's a luxury yacht, not a speedboat. It is a private jet, not a jet fighter, it is about understated elegance, sophisticated effortless, cool."

Even though looking at the DB11 one can easily identify that it is an Aston Martin, it has been redesigned and is brand new from the ground up to the end. The DB11 is more of an evolution from its predecessors' designs.  Marek Reichman, EVP, and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin, quotes, ''Proportion is the bedrock of this car. DB11 is a piece of sculpture to me.'' Even at a single glance, one can identify that the proportions have been kept in accord with the Aston Martin DB models making it pretty easy to identify.

It feels similar yet, is worlds apart. The grille at the front is massive. The Aston Martin has added in the Aero Blade Technology. This tech makes use of a system of intakes, ducts, and openings to capture the surrounding air. Then, it rushes it out the back and upwards creating an amazing downward force. The Aero Blade technology replaces the spoiler which would ruin the elegant line, curves that have been crafted into the DB11.

The Aston Martin DB11 isn't just beautiful on the outside, it has class written all over it on the inside. They have made use of quality leather and metal throughout the car. The infotainment system and the tech are from the Mercedes, but I doubt it would hardly bother anyone, as that in itself is an upgrade.

On top of all these features, Aston Martin lets you design your own DB11, you can create your own version of the DB11. The Aston Marin DB11 is undoubtedly one of the finest luxury cars one could stumble across. The Aston Martin DB11 has opened the gateway for future Aston Martin models. The DB11 is always going to be another benchmark icon for the Aston Martin for years to come.
