The F12 6 Series Bimmers have always been eye-catchers, and this convertible is no exception. In addition, BMW engineering combined with open-air motoring completes the package. This crisp Deep Sea Blue Metallic appears reasonably clean despite a few body blemishes that are nothing unusual for a decade-old car with 78,000 miles and multiple owners. Regrettably, the vehicle history report shows a rear-end accident a month after the car was first put into service.

Under the hood is a powerplant that’s befitting this car’s place in the BMW pecking order: the company’s venerable twin-turbo 4.4L V-8 factory rated at 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. If hands-on driving is your passion, this 650i is sure to please thanks to a very rare six-speed manual controlling the rear wheels. Other mechanicals include an adaptive suspension system and a power top.

The cabin is centered around Cinamon Brown leather upholstery and a feature-rich interior. Onboard goodies include the Cold Weather, Luxury Seating, and Premium Sound packages. Of course, iDrive with navigation and Comfort Access keyless entry complete the equipment list. Automatic transmission appears to be the only missing option.

While it’s hard to call a BMW 6 Series ordinary, they are not uncommon sights. At the same time, Jaguars are definitely more of a rare breed. Make that an F-Type R in convertible form and we’re almost talking unicorn. This very clean Ebony Black Jaguar (we’ll refrain from using the “Jag” moniker) is a tempting alternative to Germany’s best thanks to less than 34,000 miles on the clock and an accident-free history. Extra appeal comes from that this car is still in production with the current model having only minor changes from 2016. A comparable new Jaguar would run about $110,000.

This F-Type R may be the ultimate sleeper as badging does little to highlight the beast lurking over the front wheels. Here, we discover a supercharged 5.0L V-8 making 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. Impressively, the car even has all-wheel-drive managed by an eight-speed automatic. According to Car and Driver, a similar Jaguar hit 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. These are supercar numbers.

The poppin’ red leather interior is even more of a standout when the top is down. Cabin equipment includes heated and ventilated power seats, a Meridian audio system, auto-dimming door mirrors, and blind-spot monitoring. The seller reports that the vehicle’s only modification is a hard-wired K40 radar detector.

These Auction Dilemma choices make a strong statement for performance and value, which only complicates the decision process. With two days left of bidding, the BMW 650i convertible has a top offer of $20,302. The Jaguar F-Type R has a high bid of $40,000 and four days remaining.
