When it comes to German cars, most drivers automatically think of incredible engineering and high-end in-car technology. But the gearheads of this world conjure up images of high-performance levels from the likes of BMW M-cars, AMG Mercedes-Benz models, and of course, the timeless sports cars produced by Porsche.

But as this video from the Auto Glory YouTube channel proves, Audi needs a mention when it comes to speed. The German car manufacturer churns out several performance models these days, and the RS3 is one of the best. Read on to find out what goes down when two German sports cars go head-to-head on American turf.

An 800-HP Porsche 911 Turbo S Isn't Enough

The first car to appear in this video from Auto Glory is a white 2016 Porsche 911 Turbo S. This car features a 68 mm VTG turbocharger, is running on 93 octane and methanol injection, and has a host of other upgrades. The owner claims its power output is above 800 hp, which should put it in a class that few cars can compete with.

Incredibly, that is not enough power to compete in this particular 50-to-150 street race. The Porsche is up against a gray 2018 Audi RS3 with an upgraded clutch and turbo, lightweight wheels, and some other weight reduction measures. Both cars get to the highway and at 50 mph, the drivers floor their accelerators. These German powerhouses are neck and neck for only a couple of seconds before the Audi pulls away in spectacular fashion.

As the race progresses, the RS3 puts more and more distance between it and the Porsche 911 Turbo S. It's not clear what horsepower this built Audi is producing, but to leave an 800 hp 911 Turbo S eating dust is some achievement.

The Audi RS3 has been around since 2011 and is one of the fastest compact cars that money can buy. This model has evolved through several iterations and Audi appears to be improving its performance and style with each generation. The model featured in this video comes with all-wheel drive and a 2.5-liter turbo 5-cylinder engine. In stock form, this RS3 offers 400 hp and can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

And as this video shows, a modified RS3 is difficult for almost any car to contend with and is surely going to be difficult to beat in a street race.
