Aside from the easy commute and comfort that a car affords you, it oozes class and prestige when you show up at a function in your car – although, that largely depends on the car brand. But unlike when building a house or acquiring other properties, we often don’t have a say in the structure and general design of our cars. Interestingly, with muscle cars, that narrative is changing.

Muscle cars are really hard to come by, hence, with the help of modification companies along with a daring and creative mind, people are bringing life to their old muscle cars. Instead of the very limited customization being offered by automotive companies, modification shops' customization offers are unlimited. For what we’ve seen them do, it's obvious they seldom turn down a job, no matter how impractical, thus providing us with the weirdest mod jobs we’ve seen on muscle cars.

10 Muscle House

The owner of this muscle car must have run out of modification ideas and decided to build a house on the poor car. It’s perplexing how the car hasn’t caved in under the pressure of the weight unduly foisted on it. With zero visibility due to the modification job, it’s apparent there isn’t any plan of taking the car on any road trips - because, that might be criminal.

9 Funny Hood

via dragzine

This car stayed long enough at this shop to have afforded the owner, Kye Kelley, enough time to realize the anomalies on this modification (but, he didn't) – like the bulgy hood that was designed to accommodate the new TPS Motorsports-built 638-inch big-block Chevy engine. Taking the car to a busy road will pose some threat to other road users due to the driver’s poor visibility. This thing will only be seeing the drag strip from now on!

8 Striker

via throttlextreme

This 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda “Striker” modification is credited to Jesse Matlock and it’s a good example of the beautiful possibilities of car modification. It’s newly fitted with a powerful Mustang engine, finished all through in a fine Burgundy color (both internally and externally), and it’s adorned in sparkling chrome wheels. However, the weirdness of the mod comes from the hood that opens vertically, which looks like innovation on its own.

7 Hotrod

This mustang looks like so much fun. It’s a 1967 model year vintage hotrod. Fascinating, and probably intimidating, are the massive tires on the car. These tires will give the car a better road grip and increased torque efficiency.

With all the widows missing and having uncomfortable metal chairs, this car isn’t one for official duties, but one to be used in announcing your gear-headedness.

6 Muscle Tractor?

via Wild Wheels

There’s no limit to what’s possible through modification and if anyone ever doubted that, then this example should erase the doubts. Weird as it may seem, this is nothing short of an engineering wonder.

The car’s ground clearance has been increased, while massive all-terrain tires were also fixed on all wheels. It's puzzling what the iron in front is used for, but it could come in handy for snow clearing.

5 Ford?

This is a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) shovel car. It’s a 1956 Edsel and it’s far from what Henry Ford had hoped his invention would be used for. This Edsel looks more like an exhibition car but judging by the gears it’s been adorned with, it sure wouldn’t mind helping out with some mechanical duties – to the utmost dismay of vintage car collectors. Poor Edsel.

4 High-Rider

It could be a bit strange to some people how this is the coolest mod a gearhead would give a car – but hey, it’s life and preferences are quite diverse.

It’s a cool modification job anyway, featuring a convertible roof, all wine interior, and exterior finish, while it's also fitted with massive wheels, which is the mod's high point. If there’s one thing this car would provide in excess, then it's attention.

3 Off-Roader

via Pinterest

This muscle car has been modified into an off-roading vehicle. All the features inherent in off-roaders are present here; ground clearance, huge brakes, extra-light for better off-road visibility, massive wheels, and huge tires among others.

Must be exhilarating riding in this road king and would be double the excitement when doing an off-road trip.

2 Coned Front Fascia

via Custom Mopar

A muscle that has been incredibly souped-up. This muscle car is now rocking an engine and turbos so powerful and big it couldn’t even fit underneath the hood. This gives the front fascia a fascinating demeanor. For most gearheads, it’ll be a dream to give this mod a spin – even in its weirdness.

1 Pro-Touring

via autoevolution

This incredibly awesome 1969 Mustang is what you get when you dare to damn the consequences and build whatever you think matches your creativity. Owned by Jonathan Flores, the vintage Mustang has undergone a full body restoration and is now clad in orange paint.

Under the hood, it has a rebuilt twin-turbo 302 V8 engine which is capable of churning out 600 hp – awesomely weird.
