Since the end of World War 2, all-terrain vehicles started getting perceived as a great alternative to other work-related vehicles. As time went by, automakers put an emphasis on making vehicles with much higher ground clearance, yet kept them family friendly and comfortable. If one brand succeeded in doing that, it's Jeep.

Among all the vehicles offered by Jeep, one definitely stands out. The Wrangler is among the most popular Jeep vehicles worldwide. There are several little-known facts about Jeep's 4X4. Most people do not know that the Wrangler has been around for over 70 years. They also do not know that the name "Wrangler" has only been around since 1987. Needless to say, the Wrangler is a legendary SUV, but imagine one fitted with a de-tuned Viper engine. This Wrangler can produce 500 hp, which quite a lot for an off-road vehicle.

9 Mopar

The most incredible part about the Wrangler is that it can be turned into just about anything. The vehicle can be stripped down of all its parts, and become a rock crawler. The Wrangler can also become a powerful and luxurious all-terrain vehicle. There are several modified Wranglers out there that are the equivalent of an off-road muscle car.

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon by Mopar was featured at SEMA 2019. Though it was present at several auto shows, the Mopar Rubicon was a huge hit at SEMA. As most gearheads must know by now, SEMA features some of the most insane modified vehicles. This ready-for-war Wrangler Rubicon sure seems very aggressive.

8 Pacific Beach

California, especially the southern part, is well-known for its lifted truck culture. Not only are there tons of lifted trucks, the vast majority of these trucks are also heavily modified. It would not be surprising to stumble upon a murdered-out Wrangler somewhere around San Diego.

7 El Jefe

Most people have seen gangster movies in which the big boss rolls up in some ludicrous car. Gangsters driving around in multi-million dollar vehicles in poverty-stricken countries is somewhat a thing of Pablo Escobar's era. Most new-school gangsters would adopt something a bit less flashy, but that is still nonetheless unique.

This truck seems as if it belongs to El Chapo's son; the one that got a get-out-of-jail free card once his father's soldiers started shooting up Police around the city. This 6X6 Wrangler would perfectly fit in the show Narcos Mexico. The car is loud and certainly a head-turner, but it still has a very conservative look.

When Fiat-Chrysler Group came out with the Hellcat version of about every single Dodge and Jeep out there, the company completely changed the game. Cars and trucks with the similar power as a supercar was completely unheard of in America. In the end, the company knew it was doing the right thing.

Some lucky people got the chance to drive the 707 hp Hellcat Jeep Trailcat concept off-road, it is far more capable that a lot of allegedly rugged off-road vehicles out there. This Wrangler is nothing like your average Wrangler. It is fast, powerful, and made to overcome most obstacles.

5 Trailblazer

It is always wrongly believed that only the US has a lifted truck scene. In most countries with some kind of rugged terrains, there will always be a decent amount of tricked out trucks. Australia is by far one of the most rugged places in the world, consequently, it is common to stumble upon lifted American trucks.

The Wrangler is among the best new 4X4s you can take off-roading. Since the SUV is really the descendant of the Willys, Jeep had to make sure the Wrangler would not fail as an off-road SUV.  This souped-up Wrangler is by definition an off-road machine ready to take up on any trail.

4 Pimpin'

The evolution of the Wrangler is the Gladiator. Surprisingly, it seems like tuners such as Hennessey were waiting for Jeep to come up with such vehicles to create absolute monsters. In the meantime, the Wrangler 6X6 came out. The truck is a rarity, but it still is one of the coolest Wranglers ever made.

This Wrangler can sadly be defined as a lifted princess. This Wrangler sure does look attractive, which is why it was featured at several car shows.

3 Rattletrap

The Wrangler is one of the best American trucks to modify. Large-sized trucks such as the Ford F-250 or the Chevrolet Silverado tend to become lifted princesses when they are customized. Wranglers, on the other hand, can receive the same treatment and look like zombie-proof vehicles.

This is the sort of Wranglers that would make you want to get out of the fast lane. Not only the SUV can overcome almost any obstacle, it is powered by a modified engine that produces a calming 500 hp. There is absolutely nothing tame and bland about this Wrangler.

2 Al Sheik

As it has been claimed before, the Wrangler is among the best American SUVs out there. The car is a sign of success and adventurousness at home and abroad. Though it is fair to say Wranglers are nowhere as massive and imposing as other large-sized trucks and SUVs originating from the US, they are still great trucks to drive around and modify.

This Wrangler was not modified for SEMA or the LA Auto Show. No. The owner is a Sheik residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Off-road Evolution and Evolution Manufacturing produced this beast. So much work was done to this Wrangler that it's practically impossible to name every modification.

1 Simplicity

Sometimes, less can be more. There are too many cars and trucks on the road that have received an excess of modifications. Though the intent was to turn the vehicle into a very singular beast, more often than not the end result is plain ugly. To onlookers, it is simply amusing.

Sometimes, a very little amount of modifications can turn an astonishing vehicle into something very respectable. This Wrangler is the living proof that a slight lift, coupled with off-road tires and an aftermarket from bumper can turn a Wrangler into a pure beast.
