"Bachelor" Alumni Chris Soules recently opened up to Bachelor Nation's Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti about the 2017 Aurora, Iowa carscrash which left motorist Kenneth Mosher dead after Soules' truck rear ended his tractor. Soules ultimately agreed to a two year suspended sentence for leaving the scene of an accident and is currently on probation. The emotional wreckage left in the wake of the crash, however, continues to affect all parties involved.

Chris Soules was born into a farming community in Iowa before appearing on Season 10 of the "Bachelorette" vying for the rose, and love, of Andi Dorfman. After a less than successful time in the Fantasy Suite he was shown the door. His folksy charm, however, won over fans and producers alike leading to his star turn as "The Bachelor" in Season 19. After a proposal to Whitney Bischoff on the series finale, Soules went back to farming life only to have the engagement called off.

Soules never seemed to adjust to the fame brought to him by his appearance on the show. And while some circumstances surrounding the crash remain unknown, the results were tragic for all involved. Fellow farmer, 66 year old Kenneth Mosher, died of his injuries and Soules was immediately faced with prison time. Soules went into a deep state of depression unable to process the harm that resulted from his actions that night.

He went through a period of time when he "didn't want to get out of bed," struggling with the crash and the life that was taken. These are all classic signs of survivor guilt that Soules managed to deal with in the two years since the crash. But luckily, after agreeing to the reduced charges, and with the support of family, friends, and his fan base, Soules is slowly moving forward in a positive direction. Prayers go out to the Mosher family and to Chris as well. Buckle up.
