Hypercars shatter all known speed records and set new records for engineering and performance. These vehicles can go to speeds beyond one’s imagination, and in many cases, the pace is not even street legal or physically attainable on any corner of the earth. Most hypercars just become collector's items since their production is limited, and their availability is so rare that people spend millions of dollars just to get a piece of motoring heritage. Bugatti has a legacy of building some of the fastest automobiles to run on this planet. Rimac, on the other hand, is a new carmaker in the hypercar world and is renowned for its electrification and technological engineering.

The 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport and 2022 Rimac Nevera are the latest offerings, and they are here to set the track on fire with their incredible top speed.

The recent merger between Rimac and Bugatti has paved the path for the latter, which includes the likes of battery-assisted vehicles. This electrification will surely make the cars much faster, but it will not match the thrilling experience provided by an internal combustion engine. With 4 turbochargers powering a massive engine, the vehicle can produce 200 MPH in just 14.8 seconds, a number that once could not be computed. It is said that money cannot buy time, but it surely can buy a $3.8 million car, which can slow down time itself.

Founded in 2009 in a small city in Croatia, Rimac did not have a single employee until 2011. Ten years later, the company has made a car that beats Bugatti at their own speed game and has also bought a significant stake in the company. This is a statement of intent from this newly established manufacturer that has taken the hypercar world by storm with their electric vehicle, the Nevera. Although it is priced at a much more affordable $2.4 million, the car still packs a lot of punch due to its quad electric motor setup. The electric motor’s instant torque can propel the car from 0 to 60 MPH in just 1.9 seconds.

The 2022 Nevera is powered by four electric motors sitting on all corners of the vehicle. The cars on the front axle produced 295 HP, and the real electric motors produced 644 HP each. The combined power output of all the motors happens to be more than 1800 HP and gives a jaw-dropping figure of 1700 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle gets two gears, one for the front axle and one for the rear, which kick in at different times. The hypercar also has a 120-kilowatt hour battery, and a supercharger can charge the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Apart from this, it also features three generator braking due to its Brembo supplied 15.4-inch carbon-ceramic brakes, which charge the battery as the vehicle de-accelerates. While having a single turbocharger is a very common sight, even a twin-turbocharged engine seems very powerful for everyday usage.

On the other hand, Bugatti Chiron is no ordinary car as it uses a quad-turbocharged engine that produces an excess of 1500 HP. The 8-liter W16 engine is made entirely of an aluminum block along with port fuel injection. The vehicle's output happens to be around 1200 lb-ft of torque, and due to the four turbochargers, the torque kicks in as early as 2200 RPM. The vehicle also uses a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the power is sent to all four wheels as standard to give this vehicle high-speed stability as it charges towards a 273 MPH top speed.

The Nevera is an entirely in-house production, and the company also claims that the Carbon fiber monocoque chassis is the stiffest and largest of any automobile produced as it deflects around 70,000 Newton-meters per degree. The company wants its vehicle to be a user-friendly grand tour. The vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree parking camera and a three-stage adjustment for the accelerator pedal. The Nevera feels more powerful and can be driven every day compared to all other hypercars.

The Bugatti Chiron, too, is made out of carbon fiber, but due to its aluminum block, the vehicle's weight happens to be around 4,500 lbs, which is heavier than the Rimac. This vehicle's weight does help in cornering at high speed, but it won't do it easily. The vehicle's interior is also a work of art as most of the panels on the inside are made out of carbon fiber, and the car does not have any infotainment screen but comes with basic climate control and cruise control setup.

Overall, both these vehicles are powerful in their way and compete for the bragging rights of being the ultimate hypercar to be made ever.
