All signs from Crewe are that Bentley is entering the rarefied air of multi-million dollar automobiles currently occupied by only a handful of companies with a 2-million dollar bespoke roadster based on the EXP-100 concept car. The vehicle will eschew electrification and a top to become sort of a halo car for the British manufacturer but also to propel it into an altogether more exclusive automotive realm.

3 Responding to Customer Demands

Contending that their well-heeled customers are seeking more and more bespoke cars that offer additional exclusivity and panache, Bentley has a vision to produce a more limited-production series of ultra exclusive cars to cater to these customers. The new roadster will be part of a newly-envisioned Collectors’ Series of vehicles, after the immediate sellout of the 12 Blower Bentley recreations that preceded it.

The look of the new roadster will follow along the design language of the EXP-100, as Bentley aims to incorporate many of its design cues into future vehicles. To further distinguish the vehicle from your “normal” Bentleys, the company has tapped Mulliner, its long-time coachbuilder and customization arm to produce the vehicle in its entirety. Mulliner’s team of artisans have been customizing Bentley cars for customers desiring that extra personal touch.

1 No Electrification but Focus on Sustainability

Via Hagerty

The new roadster will likely be powered by a gasoline-only version of Bentley’s W-12 currently in service in their vehicles, and no electrification or hybrid assistance is envisioned. However, in a nod to sustainability, Bentley/Mulliner aims to use sustainable materials in the vehicle, including 5500-year-old naturally felled riverwood. Although incorporating its past in the overall design language of this roadster, Bentley is clearly charting a future its well-heeled customers can get excited over.
