Bentley has unveiled a special, sportier edition of its Bentayga V8 SUV. Named the Design Series, the interior, which has been restyled, can be customized. The new version also features an extensively updated exterior. Though the final cost has yet to be announced, it is expected to go for a few thousand more than the standard V8, which retails for roughly $178,000.

The most significant changes are visible in the cabin. The Bentayga V8 Design Series SUV has been finished in a carbon fiber weave that has been specially created for the new model. The vehicle also includes a light mother-of-pearl, diamond-jeweled Breitling clock, illuminated treadplates, and drilled alloy sports pedals and footrest, as well as reupholstered seats, trimmed in black Beluga leather, that comes in four different colors: Pillar Box Red, Orange, Mulliner White or Klein Blue. In addition, a sweeping design line in the selected accent color runs along the lower dashboard before plunging down to the center console.

The exterior of the V8 features Bentley’s Blackline package, which includes a body-colored front apron, twin gloss black exhaust tips, an enamel Design Series badge and black alternatives to all brightware pieces. There are also new seven-spoke alloys and Mulliner self-leveling wheel badges. As with the standard entry-level Bentayga, the Design Series is driven by the automaker’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, which produces 545bhp and 770Nm of torque. Bentley has stated that the vehicle performs the same as the standard V8 with a 0–62mph sprint of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 180mph, as well as, 21.7mpg. The vehicle promises SUV driving that is engaging in urban areas and exciting on the open road.

Also included are LED headlights, dark-tinted taillights, a panoramic roof, an electronic differential lock, four customizable drive modes, a valved exhaust system, and height-adjustable, and adaptive air suspension. Meanwhile, Apple CarPlayⓇ allows owners to control their iPhoneⓇ through the V8’s touchscreen, which enables drivers to access music, contacts and much more. Private eCall directly connects drivers to emergency services in precarious situations, and the My Bentley app displays where the SUV is parked, guiding owners to its location.
