Family transportation just got better with the latest offering from Chrysler—the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. The minivan comes with two powertrain options; a plug-in hybrid and the standard V6, which buyers can equip with an optional all-wheel drive. In addition to its sleek and undeniably captivating exterior, the minivan has graceful road manners, and whether you’re going long distances or just doing school runs, it is an absolute joy to drive. Although it is more expensive than both the Honda Odyssey and the Kia Carnival, the Pacifica is worth every penny as it packs loads of premium features.
As minivans begin to catch in on the electrification rave, Chrysler continues to consolidate its stronghold in the minivan class with the Pacifica hybrid. In the hybrid minivan segment, the Pacifica's biggest rival is the Toyota Sienna hybrid. For 2022, Chrysler fitted the hybrid’s gauge cluster with a Max Regeneration Indicator. Here are some other outstanding features from the minivan.
8 Three Spacious Rows
Anyone who buys a minivan clearly needs space, and the Pacifica hybrid has plenty of space. The interior is spacious, airy, and stocked with compartments, cupholders, and slide-out bins.
The minivan can seat seven passengers in its three rows, and with the Easy Access feature, passengers can quickly get in or out of the third row by just lifting a lever. Additionally, there is more than enough space for cargo when you fold the second and third-row seats down.
7 Amazon Fire TV Compatibility
Thinking of a way to keep the entire family entertained on long trips? With the Pacifica Hybrid, there’s more than enough entertainment. For 2022, Chrysler offers Amazon Fire TV as an option on the Pacifica Hybrid. This package allows rear seat occupants to stream their favorite TV shows and movies via the rear-seat entertainment screens.
Front-seat occupants can also enjoy the Amazon Fire TV, but only when the transmission is moved to park mode. Chrysler probably did this to avoid distractions for the driver.
6 Sleek Interior Design
Two words that best describe the Pacifica’s interior are modern and sleek. While the quality of build material largely depends on the trim level you pick, the cabins have an air of ambiance around them. High-end trims come with premium Nappa leather, quilted pillows, and unique accents that aren’t common in most family haulers.
For the Pinnacle and Upscale Limited trims, there’s a high center console that combines so well with the dash to give drivers the SUV feel. A suede headliner and Berber carpet crown the luxurious interior.
5 UConnect 5 Software
Inside the minivan, the Uconnect 5 infotainment system from Chrysler sits between the climate-control vents on the dash. The new infotainment system is fitted with Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and there’s a wifi hotspot.
Also, the home screen can be reconfigured, and owners have the option of a rear-seat entertainment system that comes with dual touchscreens. There are twelve USB ports scattered all over the cabin, including the C-type ports that offer faster charging.
4 FamCam In-Cabin Camera
Throughout the Pacifica’s cabin, there are touches of thoughtful tech, and one of the best for families is the FamCam camera. Well, parents would love it the most, and youngsters might not fancy it so much.
The Famcam In-cabin camera enables front-seat occupants to monitor what’s going on in the rear seats through projected videos on the monitor. So it doesn’t matter where your kids are, the wide-angle camera mounted on the minivan’s roof gives you a great view of every seat, night and day.
3 Five Star Safety Rating
Think of any driver assist or safety feature, and you can find it on the Pacifica. Automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and pedestrian detection are standard on the minivan.
Although the IIHS hasn’t tested the minivan, it received the same “good” rating on all six crash tests. Meanwhile, it was awarded the full five-star rating from the NHTSA for 2022, with five stars for the side crash test, and four in rollover and frontal crash tests.
2 Fuel-Efficient Powertrain
The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is unarguably one of the best minivans in fuel efficiency. The hybrid powertrain plays a significant role in this. The minivan has a 32-mile range of electric juice alone for city commuters, which is excellent for running errands and going short distances.
If you’re using the V6 motor, the vehicle offers a combined 30 mpg in highway/city driving. On the other hand, with the electric motor running, users can enjoy an estimated 82 MPGe.
1 Tri-Pane Panoramic Sunroof/ Power Sliding Doors
For days when your hands are full, you can count on the Pacifica for a helping hand. With the minivan’s hands-free sliding doors, all you have to do is swing your foot beneath the door, and it slides open.
You can also open the liftgate with the same foot motion. It doesn’t end there; the Pacifica is also equipped with a Tri-pane Panoramic sunroof that brings you closer to nature with the touch of a button.
