Subaru finally unveiled the all-new, fifth-generation 2022 WRX. Power, precise handling, and far more exhilarating sensations are all part of the new 2022 Subaru WRX, which comes with the latest direct-injection turbocharged Subaru Boxer motor, reworked suspension, and the special performance and styling of the newest GT grade. The car's appearance has been reworked with sleek, sporty contours and flared fenders that pay homage to its rallying heritage.

There's something exciting about the WRX's edgy design, which is both quick and modern. The Impreza small car has traditionally served as the basis for the WRX's design. As we can see, the new design is a continuation of the previous one. The WRX is up against automobiles like the Hyundai Veloster N and Elantra N, the Honda Civic Si, and the Volkswagen GTI in terms of competitiveness.

Another major change for the WRX is adopting the Subaru Global Platform. The enhanced chassis rigidity and decreased center of gravity height provide a significant improvement in comfort and handling. Suspension tuning has been done on the track to ensure a smooth ride.

Furthermore, the front suspension has been modified to decrease the mass imbalance, and a revised dual-pinion electric power steering system isolates the driver's input shaft from the engine assist shaft. These changes make the car respond faster to driver inputs.

Let's get started with the engine. The WRX range for 2022 has a new 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine that produces 271 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 5,200 rpm. The turbocharger's electronically regulated wastegate and air bypass valves, as well as the enlarged capacity, enhance agility and performance. Subaru's famous symmetrical all-wheel drive and active torque vectoring are standard on every WRX.

The Subaru Boxer engine is mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox with enhanced gear ratios and refinement for increased shifting, or a new Subaru Performance Automatic Transmission with up to 30% faster upshifts and 50% quicker downshifts. It is possible to customize the SI-Drive Performance Management System to operate the motor and automatic gearbox according to user's choice.

8-speed manual transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifters is available for drivers who want even more control over their vehicle. Having an additional transmission fluid cooler increases durability and performance in challenging situations. The 2022 WRX has reached the greatest levels of dynamic characteristics and driving comfort in its history, thanks to 17/18-inch alloy wheels and four-wheel vented disc brakes.

The wide-body style of the 2022 WRX gives it a muscular appearance. The broad and deep silhouette is emphasized at the front with Subaru's characteristic hexagonal grille, small LED headlights, and a large front hood scoop. Helping to distinguish the car's ruggedness are strong lines on the front, sides, and back. In order to save weight, the front fenders have been fashioned from aluminum. The taillights, on the other hand, are supposed to resemble volcanic magma.

The all-new Subaru WRX exudes speed and agility with a black interior accented by red stitching and carbon fiber patterning. The driver is greeted by a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio, voice recognition, and EyeSight control switches while entering the WRX.

Subaru Starlink in-car technology creates a seamless cockpit environment that enables the driver to manage entertainment and car settings via a big touchscreen display. A split-screen display is available on both the Multimedia Plus and the Multimedia Plus with Navigation, which is a first for Subaru. For increased user engagement, the screen display two kinds of data at once, such as navigation and sounds. That, to us, is a very appealing aspect.

The list goes on and on. For instance, the 2022 Subaru WRX is offered with a Harman Kardon 11-speaker audio system and a Harman Kardon 504-watt similar amplifier. The HK sound system, which has been tuned for the WRX, uses high-tech equipment to make the sounds more vivid.

For those who want more opulence, the WRX will get a new premium GT trim for 2022, with electronically adjustable dampers that can adapt performance to the driver's tastes with Comfort, Normal, and Sport modes. With up to 430 distinct personalization choices, the new Drive Mode Select adds more possibilities to customize steering, damper options, SI-Drive settings, and much more.

The new Recaro seats, exclusive to GT, provide greater support for the driver and front passenger. The seats are upholstered in black Ultrasuede and have distinct red piping and an embroidered "Recaro" lettering on the seatbacks. 8-way power seat adjustments are available for the driver. Matte gray 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and 245/40 R18 summer performance tires finish off the GT's unique look.

To name a few of the safety features, the EyeSight system now includes Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering for the first time in a WRX. Automatic Emergency Steering, which is now possible, cooperates with the Pre-Collision Braking System to aid steering control and help avoid an accident at speeds below 50 mph. The new Subaru WRX starts at $30,100 while the premium GT variant costs $42,890. As of now, you can pre-order the new 2022 Subaru WRX, and the first cars are set to show up at dealerships in June.
