One of the best things about today's motorcycle market is the sheer number of options. Never before has there been as much in terms of variety chasing the same amount of money. For a defined amount of money, you're not just limited to one or two categories; supersports, nakeds, cruisers, ADVs, tourers... the mind boggles with what your money can get you nowadays.

Regardless of which segment of motorcycle you think you want to put your money on, the options are seemingly endless and can get overwhelming. Given that, we have updated this list to include a few more entries of the most standout motorcycles with a displacement of 900cc and up.

But if you're in the unique position where you've got the basics down right, you've lived with a middleweight for long enough, and your appetite for a big-boy bike, as it were, has now grown, you're looking at a 900cc+ motorcycle. While this may enter rarefied air, the options don't exactly dwindle. As this list will prove, the likes of Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, BMW, and a lot more are all at hand to give you the best bang for your buck.

How we got our model selections: To compile this list, HotCars ran through all the prominent motorcycle manufacturers and their 900cc+ offerings. For the purpose of this list, there was no restriction on body style or, for that matter, budget. However, the entries on this list all needed to be in production currently. Also, the entries have been organized in increasing order of their current starting MSRPs.

11 Yamaha MT-10

Starting MSRP: $14,499

Yeah, we know: Yamaha produces a bunch of different awesome bike series. Except for the Tracer and the YZF, the MT is incredible as well. The naked family of beautiful MT bikes has gained worldwide popularity in the last few years, as its exterior has greatly improved. In fact, it even won HotCars' best Japanese motorcycle of 2024.

Besides the MT-10, which comes with 165hp and an engine with a displacement of 998cc, the MT-09 is a great option too. However, the engine of this model produces only 850cc. This amount is powerful, but it doesn't fit our list. The MT-10 can reach a top speed of 165 miles per hour. Not bad for a naked bike.

10 Suzuki GSX-R1000

Starting MSRP: $15,849

The GSX-R1000 may not be the most attractive motorcycle that exists, but it's super reliable and fast. With its 220-hp engine and unique style, a GSX-R1000 can be distinguished from miles away. The supersport motorcycle is now in its third generation.

Suzuki is known for making some of the fastest motorcycles in the world. With the GSX-R1000, the company delivers the best possible power and speed. The speedometer can reach 190 mph with ease.

9 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+

The Tracer 900 from Yamaha is a well-known sport-touring motorcycle. The whole Tracer family of bikes is known for its reliability and beautiful design. We notice many cool additions in the newer models that improve the appearance.

And while it may fall slightly shy of the 900cc restriction on this list, it's nearly there and nonetheless deserves a spot here. These bikes are designed for big trips and, in general, for easy and comfortable transportation. For a sports touring bike of this category, the Yamaha Tracer 900 is the best option for most.

We warn you that most entries on the list are bikes, just like the Honda CBR 1000RR, are superior supersport motorcycles. This specific model is probably the fastest and most famous conventional superbike from the popular Japanese company.

5 BMW S 1000 RR

If you're looking for an absolute monstrosity from BMW, then there are a couple of options to consider. One is the S 1000 RR (which incidentally won HotCars' best sports bike of 2024).

The other is the M 1000 RR, but if you're keen on street riding primarily, stick to the S. To say that it pushes the limits of what's possible in terms of performance would be an understatement. The S 1000 RR has incredible power and gives it all to you in an intensely fun way. It's feature-loaded, too, as you'd expect, and has a habit of making every ride, however brief, one to remember.

4 Yamaha YZF-R1

We have said this many times, but we will say it once more: the YZF series is worth an entry in every list of motorcycles. The R1 and R1M are even more powerful than the R6 and the newly developed R7. Now, we are talking about serious power.

With an engine that makes 198 hp, the Yamaha R1 can reach an impressive top speed of 192 mph. The series has undergone many design changes, but the new models remain very attractive.

3 Aprilia RSV4 1100

We are nearing the end of this list, and this Italian needs to be mentioned. The RSV4 is a somewhat underrated sportbike from Aprilia. This Aprilia recently got a new special edition that improves the basic bike even more.

The Aprilia RSV4 comes in various colors and has two engine displacement options: 1,000cc or 1,100cc. Of course, both options deliver impressive power. With its enhanced aerodynamic features, the RSV4 can reach a top speed of 190 mph!
