Chris, from the YouTube channel Bike World, has been racing Indian Scout Hooligan bikes for the last 5 races. He knows the racing bike inside and out. This video is not about his racing bike, however, but about the road version of Indian Scout. He wonders what similarities the bike shares to the racing version. What family DNA do the two siblings have? Let's find out.

It's All About Family

Chris tells us straight into the video that he doesn't want to do anything other than just ride somewhere nice and have a good time doing it. With this keeping it simple mentality he sets off for the trip right around the 35-second mark of the video. After a little montage of videos, the host pulls up to a very picturesque nature scene with the motorcycle.

He tells us that he really likes the "cruiser, bobber, street-bike or whatever you want to call it." His point is that labels don't mean anything anymore when it comes to bikes. High-powered cruisers and speed bike-style scooters like this Honda ADV350, are all the rage these days so Chris tells us "if you like a bike, you get the bike because it suits you". As long as you're on two wheels, you're family.

High Praise

Chris tells us that he's ridden the bike for about 3 days through hundreds of miles of every road type from city to amazing backroads to highways. He has also, however, ridden through many weather conditions in these 3 days such as sun, high winds and rain. Although he tells us that it does sound like he is just praising the vehicle, he can not say many bad things about it. The bike he tells us handles anything that's thrown at it with elegance and amazing performance. He also tellss us in a very interesting way that bikes like this "in his day" meant that the bikes weren't reliable, they didn't handle, we're not comfortable and very "agricultural" things. With that in mind, this new label-less bike is a beautiful thing that has solved all those problems.

The Verdict

Some down points to the bike he says, "because he has to since this is a review" are that the gears sometimes shift a little bit too hard and the gas is "fluffy" when the bike is not warmed up. Realizing that "fluffy" may not be a common word to describe gas he elaborates by saying the bike doesn't run as nicely when it's not warmed up to operating temperatures. This is not a problem in that the bike is unrideable until warm but that it's just not as refined or polished as other manufacturers' bikes. With those negatives out of the way, he tells us there really isn't much to dislike about the bike. It's a simple bike that does what you want it to when you want it to, and that's all anyone really wants with a bike.
