The BMW i Interaction Ease concept is no first generation autonomous vehicle. Instead, the German automaker presented a design that will come well after driverless vehicles become mainstream. It’s basically a cockpit created to show what BMW believes the future of luxury will look like.

Even before drivers reach their vehicle, they are met by the warm embrace of technology via a greeting from their vehicle with lights directing them to their seats. Smart glass covers the windows and travelers can go from transparent to privacy glass with a flick of their wrists. A massive panoramic display provides three separate modes for riders to enjoy their trip: Explore, Entertain, or Ease.

The Explore mode uses artificial intelligence to read human facial gestures that will give you information on your outer surroundings if an inquisitive looks comes on your face. In Entertain mode, the screen turns into a home theater and the lights dim. Ease mode, meanwhile, allows riders to relax. The seats get extra comfortable and the side glass turns opaque.
