Those who choose either the standard BMW M3 or M4 will be presented with a six-speed manual transmission. This interestingly is what sets the BMW apart from rivals as most only offer automatic options. If you do decide to opt for the competition-spec variant, you'll be looking at an 8-speed automatic.
